Archived-Anointing - Canberra Rite

Explanatory text is in italics, the priest’s in black and the response of the congregation (if present) is in bold. The following rite will usually take place after Communion, but before the Conclusion of Midnight Mass.

Presentation

Let those who are to be anointed to the order of (position) come forward.

The names of the candidates are read, and each responds:

Interdiction

Before God, his Dark Prophet and this congregation, I ask you now to proclaim the faith that you hold and that has set you apart for the Holy task of (position).

While I am Damned, my Damnation has purpose
That what I once was I am no longer
That I take my place in a Divine hierarchy
That my power granted by Damnation has limits
That my body is not my own
As Longinus has spoken

As Longinus has spoken.

Questioning

Do you believe in God, Father Almighty, and his Dark Prophet, the Centurion Longinus?
I do
Will you first and always, carry out your predation as the Lord Almighty commanded?
I will
Do you pledge to uphold the Testament, the teachings of St Monachus the first Disciple, and dogma of the Chapel of the Lance and Spear?

The following is asked of those anointed to the order of Priest:
Do you swear to serve the community of the Sanctified, the mission of the Dark Prophet, and the purpose of God?

The following is asked of those anointed to the order of Inquisitor:
Do you swear to be ever watchful and eternally vigilant in your service to (commissioner)?

The following is asked of those anointed to the order of Legate:
Do you swear to truthfully and faithfully represent and serve (commissioner)?

The following is asked of those anointed to the order of Crusader:
Do you swear to hold up your arms, and lay down your life if called, for the Sanctified?

The following is asked of those anointed to the order of Bishop:
Do you swear to put the needs of your Parish and the Damned within it above all, and to guide all those you serve in the ways of the Dark Messiah?

The following is asked of those anointed to the order of Archbishop:
Do you swear to serve the faithful, convert the masses, and uphold your duties as predator manifested?

I swear, so help me God

Let us pray.

God our Father, multiply and strength the Damnation you have bestowed upon those you have chosen for anointing. May they fulfil the office that has been bestowed to them through your servant Longinus, for your Holy purpose.

The Anointing

(Name), come forward and be anointed.

The candidate steps forward and the Priest cuts the sign of the cross into the palms. The blood from the wound falls into a chalice, which the Priest dips his thumb into and marks the cross of the forehead of the candidate with the following words:
You are the Grandeur

I am Sanctified

Commissioning

Once the last candidate is anointed, the following is said:
If we heed the word of the Centurion, if we take heart in the Spear, we shall have nothing to fear. Our Damnation is secure, and cannot be changed.
Know that you are Damned, and rejoice!

As Longinus has spoken

The following is spoken to those anointed to the order of Priest:
Go forth, bring the message of Damnation to the ignorant, serve your brethren, and be the predator that God has commanded you to be.

The following is spoken to those anointed to the order of Inquisitor:
Go forth, faithfully execute your charge without fear or favour, bring the purification to the wicked, and be the predator that God has commanded you to be.

The following is spoken to those anointed to the order of Legate:
Go forth, solemnly carry the word of your Bishop, bring the message of Damnation to all the places you walk, and be the predator that God has commanded you to be.

The following is spoken to those anointed to the order of Crusader:
Go forth, defend the faithful, destroy the wicked, and be the predator that God has commanded you to be.

The following is spoken to those anointed to the order of Bishop:
Go forth, guide your Parish in purpose, demonstrate the purpose God has given us, and be the predator that God has commanded you to be.

The following is spoken to those anointed to the order of Archbishop:
Go forth, minister to your flock bring the word to the unbeliever and be the predator manifest that God has commanded you to be.
