Appearance

Desmond is unremarkable in stature, being a little shorter than average and with a body tone that, on a human, would look fairly weak. He gives an impression somewhat like a small dog forever hoping to be let off the leash around much bigger dogs, often pacing and visually sizing others up. His skin is pale and his dull brown hair is cut very short and what remains is swept back away from his wide hazel eyes and thick brows. He habitually wears a long, dark coat with more practicality to it than style.

Personality

Desmond is enthusiastic by nature, with a strong curiosity and a fascination for anything new. His naturally friendly disposition is tempered with cautious analysis, although he rarely alienates people and is generally an open and engaging person. He is a poor judge of character and quick in anger, both to gain and lose it; he can be best friends with somebody one week, simmering with petulant rage at an imagined slight the next, and have completely made up a fortnight later. Events in the Court have caused him to become somewhat paranoid and suspicious.

Desmond almost never lies, and expects his words to be taken seriously. He is sincere and enthusiastic in his duties for Covenant, Clan and Court, and becomes extremely offended at any hint that his devotion is in doubt. As he is extremely sensitive to such hints, it's very common for him to become extremely offended at a completely imagined slight and sit on such offense for weeks or months at a time.

Mortal World

Desmond dropped out of university shortly after starting and disappeared for several years. Officially, he is now homeless, and he has made no attempt to keep the government or his family updated on his location.

Information Known by Kindred Society

Desmond is the Prince's Harpy in Adelaide and the childe of elder Samael. He lives in a Crone temple in Adelaide with his small personal herd of previously-homeless kine, where he serves as Haruspex and Low Priest to the local circle, the Circle of the Moon.

Timeline

• 2004 - Desmond is Embraced by Samael in an effort to boost Crone numbers in the wake of the Livian Crusades. He was brought into the Circle with no other options and began training.
• 2007 - On advisement of an Oracle, Samael orders the Circle of the Crone to flee Adelaide. Desmond is released by his Sire and heads North.
• 2015 - Desmond decides that Adelaide is most likely safe once more and returns.

2015

• MAR
  • Desmond returns to Adelaide. He attempts to hunt within the city, only to drink the blood of a human that tastes of sunlight and find himself staked. He is revived by the Prince and introduced to court.
• APR
  • Easter is spent fighting zombies, the latter part of the month fighting a ghost. The only other Crone member present, Kostya, is overpowered by the ghost, fate unknown. Desmond blames himself for not being powerful enough to stop it.
• MAY
  • Prince Anton Wolff reluctantly hands over his position to Clairesse Marguerite, who appoints Desmond her seneschal. Kostya returns unharmed, and is appointed Hound.
  • Under advisement of Anton, Desmond gives his own blood to the wounded Harpy, Derrick Cole.
  • Anton is exiled from Adelaide
• JUNE
  • Desmond is torpored and buried over the winter solstice as part of a Crone ritual.
• JULY
  • Desmond takes on the position of Mentor for Ezekiel, the orphaned Childe of a recently deceased enemy.
  • Desmond accepts the roles of Low Priest and Haruspex within the local Circle.
• AUGUST
  • Puts up Derrick Cole for candidacy as the new Prince after Clairesse leaves, before backflipping on his vote and supporting Jack West instead.
• SEPTEMBER
  • Accepts role of gangrel Priscus
  • Served on the jury to convict Mikhail Torre. Shortly after the sentence of the removal of one hand was carried out, removed Mikhail's second hand in an attempt to disable him during frenzy.
