What is commonly known

As a mortal, Maeve (known by another, unknown name prior to embrace) was a headstrong participant in the second wave feminist movement. Heavily engaged in student activism, civil rights, and environmental preservation.

Vines were being planted for the first time in Margaret River around the time of her graduation, and concerned about their long-term environmental impact she headed down there to protest. Soon after she arrived though her perspective changed, and she became entranced by the process of viticulture. What led to this rapid transformation is unknown, but she felt at peace in Margaret River and settled in for what appeared to be a life that was far removed from her headstrong and determined youth.

Instead, her drive turned to business, and she became a successful young wine grower. One night a mysterious figure was in her garden clipping her vineyards and piling them in what appeared to be a makeshift hession basket. Maeve yelled out to her, but the dark figure seemed to take no notice. With a flair of her former self she confronted the dark figure. Few know what happened, but Maeve lived through the encounter...in a manner of speaking.

A few nights later she awoke. Her sire sat watching with a naked mortal tied up with vines before Maeva who gorged herself. After this first meal, Maeve, horrified, peppered her sire with questions. Her sire did not answer, just sat watching, as all of a sudden an avalanche of information washed over Maeve like some kind of psychic assault. She had visions of ancient places, of distant and savage battlefields, and her, the Crow, the Morrigan.

She did not have instruction in the ways of vampires for Maeve did not need it. While the visions faded, the instincts did not. Her embrace was unusual, she was told, her sire had cast some ritual during the embrace to stave off their own torpor, and it had made her somehow stronger, but more importantly, more connected to the Morrigan.

Right

While she did not need much instruction in the ways of vampirism, she got a great deal of instruction from her sire in the ways of war (something Maeve had never known she had a talent for), and of the ways of Morrigan, the family, and the Circle.

In the Danse

For many years Maeve remained in the shadow of her powerful and dreaded sire Taoiseach, perhaps the eldest vampire in the domain, and a dreaded Crone Witch within the Circle.

When Fey went into Torpor the clan turned to Lewellyn Fenian, eldest of the Bloodcrows, to lead them as Priscus. While Lewellyn exerted stern influence over the Savages as a whole, Maeve as an individual was allowed to grow in both power and influence as her home in Margaret River became more and more important and her religious authority grew to a point where she became the Hierophant.

Maeve was growing into her role as the new Stormcrow, while the House continued to turn to Fenian for strength and direction. Fenian himself realised Maeve's potential and grew concerned that his presence was having a deleterious effect on how the other members of his House were reducing the standing of Morrigan's oracle.

Coincidental with Lewellyn resolving to leave, at least for a time, much of the court of Perth was displaced by a powerful coterie of kindred who came to dominate the city and impose their odious will upon its kindred population. Unwilling to suffer under their yoke, many left to regional areas of the state, coming to a more palatable arrangement to operate with a certain degree of independence in exchange for regular payments to the city and abiding by certain rules laid down by the Prince.

Maeve was extremely frustrated that she and her allies did not have enough power to resist the interlopers and retired for some years to an estate in Margaret River which she had purchased as a mortal. When it became known that she was the most significant kindred in Margaret River she came to an arrangement to be recognized as Regent of the town and its surrounds.
