The peasants of Asturias believe that in every litter of wolves there is one pup that is killed by the mother for fear that on growing up it would devour the other little ones. Give that male wolf pup a human face and you would have...
Arthur was embraced from the lower classes of Spanish society, a labourer in the Asturian region of Spain. As with any man who, like Arthur, seeks only to better himself, he has risen above his lowly, mortal start in the world to become something better. He is often seen wearing formal wear - anything between the casual suit trousers and shirt to a full three piece suit.
If someone were to ask Arthur what mattered the most to him, he would stare at them with eyes that bare his soul and let them speak a thousand monstrous words and just say one: "Her."
Arthur is defined by his devotion to his wife, Valerie, and to the Magnum Opus of his Requiem - the complete mastery over his Beast. This has lead him down a dark path of mental, emotional and occasionally physical trauma and has resulted in him becoming quite the monster, only restrained by the beauty who holds his unbeating heart in her hands.
There have been times when Arthur has stood and been berated by a strong Prince for the lengths and extremities of his experiments; and others where he has torn limbs off of others for daring to have a spoken opinion of him.

"Quote" - reference
"I fell in love with the way he touched me without using his hands- he saw my worst, and he stayed." - Valerie Fitzchambers, on why she chose to marry Arthur
"The world is harsh, but you will thrive in it as one of my pride. Come, learn the way of the Lions." - Ljónynja Øringr
"You will find that the hunt is always sweeter when your queen is just as hungry as you are." - Ljónynja Øringr
"He was made for her sister just as she was made for him, you know in your heart I speak the truth. They are the ones, they are the link in the chains that bind our lines closer together; closer that we, sister, could ever be. We could sooner call the gods back to this world than to deny their union." - Delphi to Ljónynja Øringr on the Marriage of Arthur to Valerie
"I first saw him, standing in the doorway of my club, covered in dirt. Even then, the aspect of power was unmistakable. My first thought was 'brother?', my second, 'This city wouldn't survive two of us.'" - Viktor Reynder
"Fuck Mr Fitzchambers is seriously scary when he fights." Crystal
"Lighten up Arthur, no need to play the Big Bad Wolf here" - Viktor Reynder
Arthur: "I love her Ljónynja. We wish to marry."
Ljónynja: "Would you live for her, die for her, stand in front of me and beg me for her to live in your place?"
Arthur: "If my heart could beat, it would beat only for her."
Ljónynja: "Would you live for him Valerie? Would you let me kill you if it meant he would live?"
Valerie: "I would Alder Matriarcha Serratura."
Arthur: "She is the light in the darkness. She tempers me, she gives me reason to continue my existence."
Valerie: "And I would give my everything for him."
Ljónynja: "I shall speak with the Lord Delphi once more. I have long sought a political marriage between our lines. But you know the dangerous path on which you are to walk?"
Arthur: "I do."
Ljónynja: "Good. Then it shall be so."
- - Definitely not a predestined marriage.
"You are to be her Husband Arthur. I want you to know, that as precious as she is to you, she is a thousand times more precious to me. I expect you to love her, protect her and defend her, to bleed for her and even to die for her. Fail in this, and all the lessons my sister has taught you will seem like a wonderland." - Delphi
