General History

The first non-native supernatural to enter Australia was a Werewolf that sailed with Captain Cook, he did not survive the experience.

The werewolves sent packs to settle the new land as part of the colonisation effort, and after a few small incidents they settled in and started to grow with the other European settlements. Then something happened, and within a month all the known packs in Australia had died.

Seeing how the Sabbat had done so well with Mexico, the Anarchs moved on Australia early, sending in lots of ghouls to prepare the way. When the Anarchs came to Australia their preparations made their settlement much easier and they soon had solid footholds in New South Wales and Victoria. The Camarilla eventually took notice and sent in settlers of their own. These settlers never had the preparation that the Anarchs did and largely found their efforts blocked.

This led to a number of violent incidents in the 1800's through to the 1810's. These continued to escalate until a number of significant Camarilla kindred finally managed to broker a deal and most Camarilla Kindred moved to what would become Queensland and South Australia.

It is possible that relationships with each of the two power-blocks would have been normalised if it had not been for the Garou's War of Tears and the destruction of the Bunyip. After this it became unsafe for 'European Supernatural' creatures to stray too far from their settlements. Any supernatural that strays too far from the safety of the settlements does not return. The Camarilla and The Anarchs initially blamed each other and the tension again increased between the camps.

It continued into the 20th Century with the Kindred of the Camarilla fomenting a disagreement between The Anarchs of NSW and VIC over the location of the Federal Government. The two Anarch power-blocks did not want each other to hold the capital. The Camarilla eventually brokered a deal which allowed the establishment of Canberra and the ACT.

Unfortunately for the Anarchs this time the Camarilla was prepared and Canberra is a staunchly Camarilla city.

The first half of the 20th Century saw a number of shifts and changes in the kindred lives with Domains control shifting between Anarch and Camarilla, but never any of the Big 3. Sydney and Melbourne have always been Anarch and Brisbane has always been Camarilla, with the Federal Government now also Camarilla this evened things out.

Then came the Sabbat incursion. Following World War II Australia became the centre of a fight, with the Sabbat launching an offensive that crippled the Camarilla in Australia. Brisbane was fighting tooth and nail but slowly loosing ground to the Sabbat. Canberra and other Camarilla cities were also loosing control. It looked like the end of the Camarilla in Australia.

The Sabbat, emboldened by their success, made their first mistake and launched new attacks on Sydney and Melbourne, bringing the fight to the Anarchs. The initial assault proved very successful and they captured areas of the cities, but then the Anarchs responded with massive force levels and the Sabbat were forced to draw additional resources from the conflict with the Camarilla. This allowed the Camarilla some breathing space.

Daiyamo Oda of Brisbane and the Prince of Canberra, along with representatives from the other Camarilla domains in Australia met with the Anarch leaders and the Treaty of Federation was born.

Enough Kindred were left in most cities to hold the line and a war party was formed. This war party attacked the Sabbat in Sydney and Brisbane, destroying their packs and structure. They then moved on to cleanse Canberra and Melbourne. The war party separated and assisted with the cleansing of Australia's other Cities.

The Sabbat are now isolated, problems of no real threat. With things sorted the Treaty was updated to 'normalise' relations between the Camarilla and the Anarchs, recognising each other and agreeing that violence between the groups would not be tolerated. Representatives from all the domains meet once a year to address any issues.

Treaty of Federation

We recognise that a mutual enemy exists in the Sabbat and that we will work together to defeat it.

Any physical attack by Camarilla or Anarch on the other will not be tolerated. Domain holders have the right to punish anyone that breaches this rule in their domain regardless of sect.

Any Domain holder found to be supporting active efforts to undermine the other sect will be punished by the domain holders of their sect.

All domains will honour the declaration of an outlaw that is supported by the opposing sect. This means that is a majority of the cities of one sect outlaw an individual then all domains will outlaw said individual as we will not shelter the enemies of the other.

In times of war each sect will appoint a single leader to represent them.

General Chronicle Feeling

Australia is a dangerous place.

Outside of the Populated areas Supernatural creatures go missing.

In the wild it feels like something is ALWAYS watching.

Powerful Supernaturals that get too noticeable have a tendency to vanish.

No Supernatural has returned from the Outback, EVER!

The Cities and population centres are the safe territories, going too far beyond them is dangerous in the extreme.

The wider Camarilla has little interest in Australia other than to stop it falling into Sabbat hands. While they offer support and resources to the Camarilla cities, the truly old kindred are wary of coming here.

The Anarchs of Australia are a shining light and are much respected by the rest of the worlds Anarchs.
