As Embraces go, none were so awful as those of the Pijavica. A putrid, swollen mass erupted from the corpse, and it took forty nights for those that survived to form into something that could once again walk among the prey. This was too strange, too inconvenient in a modern world, and they did not survive to see the dawn of the 20th Century.
