Appearance

A silver haired elderly woman in her 70s, curvy back, stooped posture thanks to years of study and desk work and picking up children, grandchildren, with a twinkle in the eye. Often seen with a wide, joyous smile or dumbfounded, open mouth when trying to listen or comprehend or god forbid remember something.

Personality

A warm kindness flows from her. She wants to encourage everyone to enjoy themselves and looks after everyone in court as family. Despite looking like she doesn’t have a clue what’s going on, she has a great deal of common sense and intelligence.

Mortal World

Nanny is as involved in her mortal families affairs as is practical and safe, as babysitter to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also tutors at UQ in Physics and Engineering. At such times she takes on the appearance of her 20 year old self, but only with her students does she allow her secondary personality “Emma” to come to the fore. Increasingly, Emma is difficult to control.

Timeline

• 1909 - Born in Royal Brisbane Hospital.
• 1927 - Graduated Brisbane State High School
• 1933 - Graduated Bachelor of Sciences majoring in Physics at UQ (presumably where she met Dr Montgomery)
• 1935 - Doctorate in Engineering
• 1937 - Works at Willard Dunham Construction Compoany 1938 - Begin work Brisbane City Council, principally sitting on the Cross River Commission, which oversaw construction of the Storey Bridge.
• 1940 - Storey Bridge is opened. Louise is married to Kevin White. 1941 - 1st child, George 1943 - 2nd child, Elizabeth (Age: 34)
• 1964 - Retires from Brisbane City Council, where she has spent her career involved with Bridge maintenance, moving into construction planning approvals. (Age: 55)
• 1969 - Begins volunteering for UQ Alumni. From there begins offering Engineering tutoring through UQ Library Services.
• 1972 - Kevin White dies.
• 1974 - Nanny becomes concerned with her own mortality and the welfare of her grandchildren and future grandchildren. Nanny mentions her concerns to her old colleague and she enters into an agreement with Dr Montgomery. I'd say he decides to keep her around for their long friendship, her brilliant calculating mind and her hardworking nature. Nanny cements lucrative connections in the BCC with regard to construction/demolition approvals.
• 1980 - Embrace. Nanny has put her affairs in order and spent important years as “Nanny” (grandmother) to her family's growing brood. She undergoes the embrace. (Age: 71)
• 1995 - As she would have been 86, she stages her mortal death (natural causes). Nanny becomes obsessed with the health and property of her human family, though she ceases contact, and continues to see to their wellbeing. She continues to tutor Engineering/Physics at UQ and draws revenue from BCC connections.
