Differences between settings

There are several differences between the previously used Laws of the Night (revised) setting and that of Vampire 20th Anniversary Edition (V20). The most notable difference is that Gehenna - the End times - are not here... yet.

The most notable differences are list below.

The "Infection" Of Camarilla Malkavians

Has happened relatively recently, within the last decade. The Camarilla is still not certain of how it views this development.

The Destruction of Goratrix' Tremere

Likewise, the Tremere in the Sabbat have just recently been destroyed; within the last few months.

The Siege of New York

Is in its final stages. It looks as if the Camarilla is going to win. Imagine that. Additionally, the other cities across the US are recovering from their own sieges. Washington DC is still held as a Camarilla domain, however it’s suffering tremendous losses and trying to get back on their feet. Russia is still in the hands of the Ventrue and the Brujah.

The Gangrel Have Not Left The Camarilla

Yet

The Schism

Has not taken place. The Assamites still suffer from their Tremere-inflicted curse.

The Fall of the Free States

Has not happened, but you can see it from here.

The Great Leap Outward Is Still Preparing

In short, the New Promise Mandarinate has not made its full-court press in to California yet.

Zapathasura (Ravnos) has been destroyed

The Week of Nightmares occurred and finished on the 6th of October 2015. Details are still sketchy.

The Time of Thinblood Is Upon Us

Caitiffs are a relatively recent phenomenon, their population exploding in the post-WW2 times. The Thinblooded are even more recent - it is still commonly held dogma across the spectrum that the 13th generation cannot sire.

Chronicle Timeline

Oral History:

• Cain kills Abel, and is cursed. He wanders the world and learns of his powers.
• Cain embraces 3-7 more vampires (Enoch, Zillah, Irad, King of Nod, Queen of Nod, Crone, Lilith), who embrace 13 more. The 3rd generation's action, and curses, establishes the traits and weaknesses of the clans they create.
• Not all clans accept this general history, and many have their own version relating to their clan founder.
• Clans split themselves by classes, similar to mortal society. High and Low clans cooperate loosely within themselves, more out of necessity than choice.
• The Eastern Tal’Mahe’Ra begin as a Mesopotamian cult
• The Lost Tribe is founded

BCE:

• 146 BC – Fall of Carthage, birth of the Tal’Mahe’Ra as an Eastern Sect, make in-roads into the West under the guise of Cults

Dark Ages:

• 476 - Rome falls, marked as the beginning of The Long Night in vampire history. The Inconnu begin to organize.
• 510 – Founding of the Cult of Enlightenment by the Inconnu
• 1000 - War of Princes runs across Europe, ending sometime after the Anarch movement starts.
• 1022 - Clan Tremere is formed.
• 1096 - First Crusade, split of the Eastern from the Western Tal'Mahe'Ra (originally claimed to be 450 AD)
• 1133 - Saulot is diablerized, Clan Tremere begins ascent to full clan status.
• 12?? - Anarch movement begins.
• 1204 - The fourth crusade conquers and sacks Constantinople. Inconnu seize power over the remains (Latin Empire). Death of Michael the Patriarch.
• 1231 - Catholic Church begins the Inquisition. Mortal vampire hunters working for the Society of Leopold being appearing shortly thereafter.
• 1240 - Anarch revolt begins.
• 1312 - Western Tal’Mahe’Ra found the Way of the Ancient Lawgivers
• 1395 – Tyler Diablerizes Hardestadt

Renaissance Era:

• 1413 - Tzimisce antediluvians destroyed
• 1444 - Augustus Giovanni diablerizes Cappadocius, beginning the Giovanni's ascent to a full clan.
• 1450 - The Camarilla is formed, and its Traditions are established, introducing the Masquerade.
• 1453 - Fall of Constantinople, founding of the Inconnu as a sect.
• 1456 - A faction of Baali loyal to Nergal found the Servitors of Irad
• 1483 – Lasombra antediluvian destroyed
• 1493 - The Convention of Thorns ends the Anarch Revolt. This formally sets the modern definition of Anarchs.
• 1494 - The Code of Milan is created, formally creating the Sabbat.
• 14?? - Malkavians in the Camarilla decide to give up Dementation for their allies in the Camarilla, and learn Dominate instead.
• 1496 - Treaty of Tyre is signed, causing Assamites to give up drinking Kindred blood and receive their clan curse from the Tremere.
• 1528 - The Giovanni and the Camarilla sign The Promise, keeping the Camarilla out of Giovanni business and the Giovanni out of Camarilla politics.
• 15?? - Gargoyle Revolt occurs, freeing a large number of Gargoyles from Tremere control.
• 1550 – Twilight Cult is formed and usurped by a Ravnos of the Jati from India
• 1645 - A faction of Baali loyal to Moloch and walking the Path of the Hive found the Royal Order of the Edenic Groundskeepers

More Recent History:

• 17?? – Unification of the Eastern and Western Tal’Mahe’Ra. Reclamation of Enoch in the Shadowlands. Tinia declares herself the Del’Roh
• 17?? - First Sabbat Civil War occurs in America, ends in 1803.
• 1803 - The Purchase Pact is signed by Regent Gorchist, Radu Bistri, and other worthies of the Sabbat, effectively ending the First Sabbat Civil War.
• 1834 - The last of the global Inquisition movements officially end. Society of Leopold continues working in secret to hunt Kindred.
• 1857 - Tal'Mahe'Ra usurps control of the Jati and India, exercising power over the subcontinent indirectly
• 1863 - Second Sabbat Civil War starts, ending in 1933.
• 1890 - The Ninth Wave is formed, eventually lending support to the Technocracy
• 1898 – Sabbat infiltrate the Royal Order of the Edenic Groundskeepers and form the Imperial Order of the Master Edenic Groundskeepers
• 1933 - The Code of Milan is composed, both putting an end to the Second Sabbat Civil War and establishing the modern doctrine of the Sabbat.
• 1941 - Prince Mithras enters torpor, and Lady Anne Bowesley declares herself "Queen" of London
• 1944 - Los Angeles is taken by Anarchs, becomes the Anarch Free State.
• 1957 - Third Sabbat Civil War runs for 100 days in New York, results in Panders being recognized by the Sabbat.
• 1986 - Brunhilde claims responsibility for the assassination of Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme.

Modern Nights:

• 1996 – Tara declares herself Prince of San Diego, and defects to the Camarilla
• 1997 - Archbishop Giangaleazzo defects to the Camarilla, destroying the original copy of the Code of Milan in the process
• 1998 - ’The Great Prank’ Camarilla Malkavians regain dementation. None are aware of how this was accomplished. Some are not aware they can learn it. Speculation is that the Malkavian antediluvian has become The Madness Network, and no longer exists in physical form.
• 1998 - Assamites rediscover Dagon’s Call
• 1998 - Children of Osiris mysteriously disappear
• 1998 – Tremere antitribu are destroyed at a convocation in Mexico City
• 1998 – Saulot re-awakens and reclaims his body. Tremere claims the body of Goratrix
• 1999 - Ahrimanes mysteriously disappear
• 1999 - Path of Harmony falls
• 1999 - Cathayan invasion of Anarch Free States
• 1999 – Salubri antitribu rise and join the Sabbat
• 1999 - June: 21st: The Sabbat takes control of Atlanta, Georgia in a midnight raid; Brujah archon Julius and Malkavian prince of Atlanta Benison are listed as casualties.
• 1999 – Thin Blooded Vampires begin appearing in greater numbers
• 1999 – The Harbingers of Skulls appear
• 1999 – The Tal’Mahe’Ra is fractured. Izhm Ur-Baal declares himself Del’Roh in the Shadowlands. Roderigo declares himself Del’Roh in Spain.
• 1999 – October: Archbishop Moncada is slain, presumably at the hands of his childe Lucita and the Assamite Fatima al-Faqadi
• 1999 - Hesha Ruhadze receives possession of the Eye of Hazimel artifact
• 2001 - The Sabbat and Camarilla engage in war in New York City.
• 2002 - Tlacique announce their existence and claim War on the Sabbat.
• 2004 - Sebastian LaCroix is destroyed by an explosion in Los Angeles, presumably along with the Ankaran Sarcophagus
• 2015 - The end of August starts the week of nightmares. It end suddenly on the 6th of October 2015. The Red Star stays in the night sky, but is only visible to 'Supernaturals'. • 2016 - The Camarilla is reeling from the extent of the infiltration of its membership by Clan Setite. Rumours persist of war.
