Personal Information
Appearance
Sundae is never seen without a mask. On good days the mask may be barely noticeable, contact lenses that obscure her natural eye colour, makeup that conceals rather than enhances. On other days, the mask may be real, a physical covering that veils her from the outside world. On bad days the mask may go beyond the physical to changes in personality that confuse and deceive.
Sundae takes her responsibility as Circus Nox’s Ringmaster seriously. Hats and coat tails have been the traditional garb of Ringmaster’s the world over for centuries and Sundae continues that tradition, albeit with her own twist exchanging red and gold for pink and white and black.
Personality
Raised as a mortal to be the quintessential Southern Belle, elements of this continue to influence Sundae’s personality; calm, mannered, she has a ready smile and is fiercely loyal to the Circus and anyone she considers to be “hers”. She channels that energy into being the Ringmaster, comfortable being the centre of attention, always ready to distract with empty words and vague promises.
Scratch the surface and underneath is a level of bitterness that her life didn’t turn out the way she expected it to. The positivity of her youth, which some might call naivety, swept away by circumstance and time. When it manifests, it presents as temper, loss of patience or control and poor decisions.
Away from the public Sundae presents very differently. Contemplative and quiet, she is driven by faith, a belief in power greater than her own, she spends her time on the Street of the Gods in Fyshwick walking among the divine or in prayer before her alter.
Mortal World
Sundae’s name can be found on her family tombstone under a live oak tree in Magnolia Cemetery, Mobile.
There has always been a circus in Fyshwick and so there has always been a Ringmaster, a mantel that has been passed down over the years. In Canberra, she is occasionally recognised as The Ringmaster, a cult figure who is automatically dismissed as part of the tapestry of locals that make up Canberra.
Sundae has a reputation among circus folk around the world and maintains contact with as many people as possible through social media. Her name is recognised and as time has gone by she has presented as her daughter, grand-daughter and more recently her great-grand daughter.
