History
It's known that before she fully committed herself to her Awakened path, Dornelia was little more than a university student hoping to become a high school teacher in geography and biology - though she was one of the few Sleepwalkers in Brisbane prior to her Awakening. For a few years, it seemed that she'd be comfortable, working for Brisbane State High and, for the most part, seeming rather happy.
But as her knowledge of the Awakened Realm grew, her interest in what she hadn't seen increased, as well. She started taking holidays, vanishing for weeks at a time, without word. Eventually, she was forced to make a choice between a traditional career in teaching, or being able to pursue the wonders of everything Awakened life had to offer. She chose the latter - and despite the loss of income that's resulted, she's savoring every moment of it.
Currently
Dornelia spends some time in Brisbane. Well, compared to anywhere else, she spends most of her time in Brisbane. She's just as likely to excuse herself from a Mage meeting because she's attempting to sketch a waterfall she found in the jungles of Brazil, or be busy riding a horse across the Mongolian steppes. She does still love her city, however, and can usually be persuaded to help a problem facing it if need be. Most of her attention and help, however, is focused on the spiritual health of the city.
She's usually accompanied by her own Spirit, one that she picked up a few years ago, around about the time she started drifting away from the Fallen World - the Spirit of Exploration. They get along very well.
