VSS: PERTH

This game is set to be less of a PvP and more a PvE with inter-player politics. Firearms require a low application, some are unobtainable (such as military grade weapons), explosives also require an application due to their destructive power. Damage is capped at five per attack as per domain norms. Poisons will be capped in potency within reason and interstate play will require a proxy app and a weeks notice before the game sent to the VST mail account.

A Quick History Lesson

Freehold History of Perth

The Lost of Perth have toiled to keep their secrets well hidden for decades and done so with relative ease. The state of WA is abundant with space and far enough away from the rest of Australia to easily create a new life in the ever raising heat of Western Australia. While not many Changelings operate within Perth it has been noted that Loyalists are a frequent presence within the lives of the Lost, ever since the loss of the Sovereign of Burning Will decades ago.

Recent History

The members of the current Freehold escaped Arcadia en masse in 2015. Moving in to the Four Seasons Hotel and commencing to restore it to a fully functioning hotel well known for producing excellent food and wonderful service, they are gradually beginning to pick up the pieces of their fractured lives.

  • Master of Castle Grimm, Felix Grimm. Is the owner of the Freehold building that the changelings lodge in and seems to have status within the Hob community.
  • Midget the Gargantuan Ogre. Courtless and operates as the local Changeling law enforcer. Known to travel with ensorcelled mortals. Reasonably large Wyrd (4), is noticeable.
  • "Pumpkinhead", not much known apart from a monstrous Wyrd rating (6ish).

The Freehold

The Four Seasons is an up and coming five-star and seven storey hotel situated in East Perth with only the finest in wares and quality, reminiscent of European castle designs. Boasting expansive views of the river and surrounding parklands, the reviews from the papers and online forums all agree on one thing: this place it where you want to go and where you want to be.

The lower basement is used for storage, guest parking and utility areas such as maintenance and security. The ground floor contains the award winning restaurant known for fine, intimate dining, two well appointed conference and function rooms, indoor pool, gym and sauna. A small ballroom plays host to weddings, fashion parades and other events. The staff room and offices are situated behind the restaurant and accessed via an unobtrusive hallway leading from the lobby.

The first floor is reserved for the future casino lounge, currently being renovated. Second and third floors are standard double rooms, fourth and fifth are superior apartment style accommodation. The sixth floor are premium apartments and the seventh houses the four exclusive premier suites plus a small concierge desk.

The body of the Freehold within the Hedge links to the Grimm Castle, an ancient and magically powerful three storey castle where Master Felix Grimm allows the Changelings to operate as long as they meet requirements and pull their weight. Workshops are available for craftsmen of the Freehold with simple non-magical materials upon request and basic equipment is freely available.

Sworn members of the Freehold receive a benefit to their ability to survive in the wilderness (a +3 to all Survival rolls) and can attain positions and status in the Hotel and Freehold which provides access to merits and extra resources. The Freehold Pledge within the Four Seasons lasts a year and a day.

Within travelling distance of the Freehold are multiple landmarks, such as:

  • The Leatherhand's Orchards where fruits and produce are grown,
  • A hand infested swamp with a strange hand infestation,
  • The hub ran by the hedge-traversing Pathfinder hobgoblin family.

Rumours and Whispers

  • The Court was chasing this "Pumpkinhead" for quite some time, where did he go and why did we stop?!?
  • How did Grimm ever get the Pathfinders to agree to help the Freehold and why did he pay the price for service instead of the Changelings when they last met?
  • Who is Grimm and what was his family to own the Grimm Castle?
