Personal Information

Calanthia Dalton is an intense, ethereal young British woman who plays bass and sings in the grunge band The Childer with her best friend Curtis Rhodes and her friend Ionna.

Appearance

Callie is a pale, skinny young woman with hair that changes length and colour, a quirky fashion sense, and eyes that are quite eerie- they are massively dilated, with just a ring of bright blue to show their colour.

Personality

Strange and almost otherworldly, Callie always seems to be half in a daydream. She is generally sweet and charismatic, easily excitable, but with a tendency to get fidgety with her lighter when she's stressed. It's clear that Callie is capable of strength and skill, but is always in Curtis' shadow.

Mortal World

Callie is the bassist and backup vocalist for grunge band The Childer who are quickly becoming a big deal, their dedicated fan base are eagerly awaiting their second album ((Fame 2)). There are some weird rumours about Callie, but it's easily put down to her ethereal nature.

Information Known by Kindred Society

Having moved to Australia in 1990, Callie quickly ingratiated herself into the local music scene along with her best friend Curtis and their band The Childer. She is a neonate Ravnos and a member of the Camarilla.

Timeline

1963 – Calanthia Levaithen Dalton is born in Bradford, Yorkshire to Alamina and Frederick Dalton
1966 – The Daltons meet the Rhodes family at a charity event and become good friends, with Callie becoming fast friends with their son Curtis.
1968 – Callie starts primary school in Bradford.
1969 – Elizabeth Rhodes is killed in a crime that is never solved, resulting in Curtis’ dad throwing himself into work and asking the Daltons to help look after the young boy. This leads to Callie and Curtis becoming even closer friends as they spend a lot of their time together.
1974 – Callie starts secondary school, and much like primary school she’s always seen as a bit of an oddball and never quite fits in like her older siblings. Curtis is her best friend, and even though he’s not always emotionally there for her and sometimes teases her she starts to develop a secret crush on him.
1978 – Her first serious relationship begins early in the year with a boy named Oscar, and over the summer as it seems more and more likely that they’re going to sleep together she gets excited and tells her best friend Curtis about the impending milestone. Curtis, in an act of selfish manipulation, instead convinces Callie she should sleep with him and they promise not to tell anyone. Everything is okay for a couple of weeks until rumours start to spread about her and Curtis sleeping together, which leads to Oscar breaking up with her and her friends circle diminishing greatly as people begin to slut shame her. In the October half term holidays, Callie finds out that she is pregnant. Their parents convince her to get rid of the baby, and the two of them are heartbroken over what could have been. Curtis begins dating another girl a month later. Over the next six months Callie’s grades slip further and further as she is viciously ridiculed and bullied while Curtis remains virtually untouched.
1979 – Callie barely finishes her GCSE and promptly drops out of high school, instead throwing herself into music and the punk scene. She and Curtis remain close, but he goes on to continue study and she builds a safe “reality” around herself to cope with her trauma. This is where she first experiments with drugs, as she believes that people already think the worst of her so she may as well have fun. She also begins dating a string of young men, every relationship curiously never really going anywhere while her close friendship with Curtis remains. Rumours pop up about crazy antics and wild behaviour, most of it untrue.
1984 – Heavily into the punk and early grunge scene, Callie and Curtis reunite after he returns from three years at the Royal Northern College of Music. Struggling to get work in the higher society scene, he asks Callie for advice and she introduces him to punk. He immediately takes to it, becoming known as a brilliantly charismatic frontman and they play in various bands together and separately for a couple years.
1986 – Callie and Curtis start their own band, Lister Park, which quickly gets a solid following.
1987 – Lister Park begin gaining more fame outside their local scene and it leads to Curtis gaining the attention of a Daughter of Cacophony. She ghouls Curtis and starts giving him work at her upper-class jazz club, which leaves him little time to play in the band. Callie and he eventually part ways, and she goes back to playing music with other people. She meets a nice guy named Giacomo and they begin dating in December.
1988 – Giacomo invites Callie to move in with him after three months of dating and she agrees. He introduces her to his “best friend”, who turns out to be his regnant. Giac is a ghoul, and the vampire in question becomes quickly more interested in Callie than him. In May, she is embraced into Clan Ravnos and begins learning about her new life.
1989 – Callie travels the continent a lot with her sire- they follow bands on tour and she fills in at some shows for sick or injured band members- but returns to England as one tour ends and another begins. It’s here at Court that she bumps into Curtis and realising they’ve both been embraced, exchange contact details with the plan to catch up. This never comes to fruition as she and her sire go back on the road and she becomes difficult to reach and her sire keeps her too busy to think about contacting the neonate Toreador.
1990 – Curtis calls Callie out of the blue in one last attempt to get in touch with her and say goodbye before he is sent to Australia, and she happens to be in town and agrees to meet up with him. They catch up finally, and agree that she should join him in Australia. Because he’s leaving the next night, her sire says there’s not enough time to arrange for her to go with him and after months of trying to work it out it looks like she won't get there, but she has words with her drummer friend Ionna (of Clan Brujah) and within a week Callie is in Australia. A few weeks later the two join Curtis and the trio quickly forms the band The Childer.
1991 – The Childer release an album via the recording studio of The Cadence. It’s a breakout hit and launches them towards fame. There's a song that becomes infamous for only ever being played live called “To Tiny”- a song Curtis wrote about the baby he and Callie were going to have and how it led to where they are and where they could have been. Callie moves with Ionna to Toowoomba. Curtis remains living in Brisbane, but the three still spend a lot of time together performing across the state.
1992 – They begin trying to write a follow-up album to Rain Check, but progress is slow and they still haven’t made any headway by the end of the year.

Recent History

1993

FEB - Met with Cadence then the Prince of Brisbane immediately before they announced the bloodhunt on the former Brujah Primogen and his supporters of an attempted coup. Got to hold the Prince's rad katana without getting in trouble. Dragged Curtis to Court, then socialised and did some art. Typical Callie things, really.
