The assigned "hitman" of the Prince (and/or a Primogen). Their role is simply to seek out and punish the target he's been assigned to hunt down. Employed mainly to remove "problems" quickly and without going through public procedure (or keeping things away from the public eye/ knowledge).
In some cities, the Hound and Sheriff are a single role, typically though the Sheriff is the peacekeeper who upholds the law, while the hound is the 'problem solver' who acts beyond it.
