Appearance

Mr Hobbes sinewy muscles belie an inhuman strength. His posture is commonly bent and animal like. Bestial cold eyes stare forth from behind the human flesh mask he always wears. Around his neck he wears a string of mementos from past victims. His clothes are water logged, blood stained and fetid. He regular appears to be listening intently at unheard noises and anyone who spends time in conversation with him will feel the caress of ghostly hands.

Personality

To the court Mr Hobbes appears predatory, short with words and to the point. His voice is guttural and cold. However, a beastly temper dwells just below the surface and Mr Hobbes is not afraid to let it come out.
To his covenant mates Mr Hobbes is a philosophical ascetic, always willing to discuss the occult and his eugenic theories.
To his clan mates he's a concerned patriarchal protector, loyal and infinitely accepting.
To his prey he is a nightmare made flesh.
To the kine he is the source of many an urban myth and ghost story and a reason not to stray alone at night.

Information Known by Kindred Society

Mr Hobbes is the Priscus of the Nosferatu Clan of Sydney and member of the Ordo Dracul. He lives in the catacombs beneath the city with the rest of his clan. He is a dangerous individual.

1853 - Caleb Hobbes is born in Hull City, England
1861 - Is sent to work the coal mines
1870 - Seeking an escape from a life of drudgery in the mines takes part in illegal catch wrestling bouts for money
1874 - After taking a dive decides to skip town to avoid criminal retribution. Jumps a ship heading for the gold fields of Australia
1875 - 1877 - Blown way off course the ship runs aground against an island in the Lesser Antilles. With dwindling food and no rescue in site the crew resorts to cannibalism. Full and strong, Caleb makes a raft and travels to one of the main islands where he stays with the Carib people. He takes part in their customs with great enthusiasm, takes a wife and has a child. It is the happiest time of his life and he almost pushes the darkness of his past out of his mind. However an unknown Noctuku who lived on the island, embraced him, and in a fit of rage he killed his wife and child. He would never see his wife or child again which damaged his mental health. Eventually a merchant vessel came to the island which he boarded and returned to France with it.
1878 until 1914 - takes advantage of the new more liberal France under the Belle Epoque to score easy meals and cheap entertainment. However, pressure from the strongly Invictus/Lance kindred court forces him to flee Northward where he finds himself caught up in the beginnings of the great war.
1914 - 1916 - He wanders the killing fields aimlessly preying on dying soldiers and giving himself over to the beast.
1917 - Whilst bunking down in a monastery in Bulgaria he meets a kindred monk who introduces him to a set of practices to calm his beast and unbeknownst to Caleb gives him his first taste of the Ordo Dracul.
1918 - Sees out the rest of the war under the tutelage of the monk who doesn't realise that Caleb harbours a dark and neverending hunger
1919 - After his dark secret was revealed to the monk, Mr Hobbes flees into the foot hills of the Carpathian Mountains where he feeds off the peasants whilst living in caves and watching constantly for the monk.
1921 - Caleb is caught in the act of cannibalism by a band of dragons who threw him into a pit in their lair in a misguided effort to "cure" him of his curse.
1923 - The Monk finds him in their lair and bargains for Calebs freedom. Mad with rage, fear and hunger, Caleb destroys the dragons and the monk too once released.
1924 - 1945 - This time is all but lost to Caleb as he was little more than an animal at this stage, living moment to moment and preying on human and neonate alike. What is known is that towards the end of the war, Caleb found himself fleeing east across europe, being hunted in turn by the Allies, Nazis and then by the Russians.
1947 - He crosses the water into Alaska on a fishing boat.
1951 - Whilst lairing in the woods next to a logging camp he comes across Kohana. They have an epic battle, each trading advantage. Before one or the other can finish, the loggers come across the pair and while killing the loggers they recognise a kindred spirit amongst them.
1975 - Moves to Australia much to the protestation of Kohana. After a big argument she attacks him but by this stage he has far surpassed her physically and easily defeats her. It is telling that he leaves her without putting her into torpor.
1976 - Founds The Clan with Ferdinand Wolfe.
1977 - Spends most of the next three decades exploring the undercities, meeting their inhabitants, battling, licking his wounds and securing space for the Nos of the court of sydney. He hunts above with Kohana, Cazador and Jericho. He spends time in discussion with Ferdinand Wolfe about the curse, developing The Clan and his concerns. Also at this time he meets Sawyer and sees in him an unlikely kindred spirit. He is drawn to his acceptance of the monstrous side of his nature and his degenerate eating habits. He performs some tasks for Sawyer in exchange for some help with mortal interests. Towards the end of the three decades
2002 - Asks to be put into Torpor by members of The Clan as he is losing touch with the last vestiges of his humanity and sanity.
2006 - Is woken prematurely from his Torpor by Ferdinand Wolfe who is also slowly losing his mind and is looking for understanding and companionship. He takes up the mantle of Nosferatu Priscus at this time to help hold the clan together.
2007 - With things reaching a crisis point within The Clan, Ferdinand Wolfe develops Attestation an amalgamation of Scientology auditing and Christian confessional. It is an attempt to help members with psychological hangups and the like. Mr Hobbes is at first resistant to the idea.It lasts 2 years until one day he overhears Ferdinand running a session in the necropolis and shambles over and tells Ferdinand to give him 'a testing'.
2008 - Through Attestation Mr Hobbes and Ferdinand begin to overcome many of their social hangups.
2009 - After a breakthrough, Mr Hobbes realises that much of his psychological hangups revolve around the child he didn't get to know. He moves to support a small band of street kids that live in the barrens next to the f3 freeway in Artarmon. He provides them with new clothing (Halloween costumes as that's what the kids ask from him. He gets Sawyer to purchase them for him). He also provides them with camping supplies and food. Initially he interacted with them solely through leaving goods unseen. He then began to speak with them from sewer gratings. And finally he made his appearance (in a ronald regan mask and suit).
2010 - He begins to seed small amounts of vitae into their food after noticing some of the children were sickly. Soon they are slavish little blood addicts.
2011 - He decides that most of his victims end up wasted meat. He finds a way to put the meat to good use. The children go from strength to strength.
