Mortality

Elena Belladonna was the daughter of Michelangelo Salvatore. At an early age Belladonna was taught to be an expert with the knife, and that hiding in the shadows was a way of life for the family. Elena was born in New Orleans, USA, to a large italian family. She fast became interested in the dark world of witchcraft and voodoo, an open and increasing community in New Orleans, where the gothic underworld dragged her in, despite the best efforts of her family. When Elena turned twenty-one she met a young Xavier Corvin, who was determined to win her heart after encountering her at an underground jazz club and immediately the two fell hopelessly in love. How could she resist his dark charm and kind eyes? Much to her parents despair the two were engaged in only a year at the age of twenty-two.

The couple worked hard, calling herself by her middle name, Belladonna ran messages between the criminals and murderers of the Marcello family, earning extra for the occasional threat involving severed ears and fingers. finally the two saved enough money to buy a small apartment in Brisbane city, amongst the lights. If you asked her today she'd have fond memories of the mix-matched furniture, chipped teacups and the big round glass window overlooking the city.

The two decided quickly they wanted to get married, settle down and have the perfect life. They so desperately wanted to have children of their own, a happy family home, clean of the underworld and leave the crime business behind. It was Belladonna's last job, having to drive out into the edges of the city to meet a man on death row, he'd done bad by the family, unfortunately he had prior knowledge of his soon to be downfall, and as Belladonna stepped inside the run down apartment she was greeted with the hot sting of bullets to her chest, and blood rose into her mouth. Carving the death symbol into her very flesh, although it is unknown by others where. Belladonna lay in a pool of her crimson blood, the only thing keeping her warm around her broken arms. Her chest in pieces, her fading memories flashed to her fiancee Xavier, for a moment she witnessed the child she could never have being held in her arms, as her vision faded. As she was breathing her last breaths she was offered a last chance at a life she'd always dreamed of having, Her Keeper offered her the future she wished for, safety for Xavier and the return of her life. She called herself Nightshade, like the plant she said, and she was here to take the pain away....

Arcadia

Belladonna was torn into the hedge by a Fae that called herself Nightshade. Forced to fly on broken wings, Belladonna spent her years in arcadia doing what she had always done best. Delivering messages. However this was a darker kind of message, taken for her sinister approach to her job, and her dark reputation for torture, Belladonna was forced into not only delivering dismembered body parts to her keeper, but to deliver chunks of her own body to others, often having to tear hair out, chop fingers off, and on rare occasions deliver her eyes or lips.

eventually after years of running silently and swiftly through dark forests, and the places only visited in horror films, belladonnas features grew into those of darkness itself, much like that of a crow, eyes darkening, feathers growing through her hair, she became horrifying to look at, and became an expert and moving swiftly through the shadow.

Escape

Belladonna's escape was a lucky one to say the least, her keeper had not arrived the day she was to deliver her feathers to her. Belladonna caught a glimpse of herself in a mirror, and through her eyes a flash of a kind man's face appeared, she could remember his smile, the talk of a child, and a life she once wanted so desperately. And so, taking her opportunity, she fled. Following the dark forest trails to the edge of arcadia, she ran into two unexpected friends, a Dolphin like creature named finn, and a rather unusual looking doctor named Channing. Quickly discovering the three were escaping their keepers together, they helped each other. Little did they know, there would be very little waiting for them on the other side, but empty hotels and a dark Brisbane's future. Belladonna swiftly realised there would be no possible way for her to return to her life, it would be months until she would pluck the courage to peer into the window of Xaviers loving home. The life she wished for herself was now being lived by someone else. She was handed to the freehold a jittering broken mess. Convinced her heart was destroyed, she joined the corruptibles, with no heart she could no longer feel pain and suffering in herself and others surely?

Recent Events

Belladonna has become a firm member of the Information network, the corruptibles Motley. Her general lack of feeling in her heart, or at least constant denial has helped her become an expert in the vetting process. She has grown exceptionally close to her Motley mates. If you ask her she will refer to them as her family.
