  2. To lobby for access in the Armidale local area by making recommendations to Council and where appropriate local businesses and other agencies.

  • To ensure existing Council properties and facilities are upgraded to make them accessible.
  • To assist in the development of appropriate staff training across all Council Departments to ensure that Council provides services appropriate to the needs of people with disabilities.
  • To provide opportunities for training to the business sector to raise awareness of the benefits of improved access to business and the whole community.
  • To promote employment practices at Council which do not discriminate against people with disabilities.
  • To lobby at State and Federal levels of government on access issues as necessary.
  • To facilitate the referral of maintenance issues that is the realm of Armidale Council to appropriate areas within Council for timely action.
