Occultess, Clan Gangrel

Jacqueline is an occult scholar who focuses mostly on Kindred lore, but has a deep knowledge of history and an interest in other areas of the occult. She also has a reputation for being a violent, aggressive and unnerving creature who, while well spoken, tends to display disturbing tendencies during Elysium.

She is most often approached by other Kindred for her language skills (translation, etc) and her knowledge of history and the occult. While often considered hard to deal with, her skills have come in handy for many in the court, provided they can get past her personality.

The Ins and Outs

Appearance

Jacqueline does not have the classic Gangrel appearance that most Kindred seem to expect. She dresses in fine clothing, usually base colours and in a style that some might call gothic. Though there is certainly an old-fashioned, almost Victorian, twist to her style. Dresses, skirts, corsets, stockings and tailcoats make up her usual wardrobe, though there are a few things that are always noticeable about the way she dresses. Despite her neat appearance, there always seems to be something slightly out of place; it might be the ripped stockings or something else that just doesn't seem right. Most notable, it is her constant lack of shoes.

While not a particularly large woman in any sense of the word, she moves with a confident, almost primal air that puts lie to her verbosity. Her hair is a mix of black and white, and short, and her fangs appear to be constantly exposed. She does nothing to hide the pale gauntness to her face, though does tend to wear dark,somewhat gothic makeup.

Personality

There are two main facets of Jacqueline's personality.

The Terror

Her love of the unnerving, the horrifying and the intimidating is what people first notice about Jacqueline. A very hands-on creature, she tends to try and unnerve or scare others around her with her aggressive or overtly sexual actions, her attire, or any other manner she deems appropriate. She will act aggressive or openly seductive (often both) if she thinks it will unnerve her conversation partner, and is not beyond petting or tugging at clothing and so on. She gets along best with other people who adore violence and the uncouth. To her, people are prey or predators. She rarely smiles, and it is somewhat unnerving when she does, for more than just the fact that it reveals her fangs. She also bears a sharp, violent temper. Generally, she can keep herself under control but a few choice words on a delicate subject can have her spitting and growling more quickly than a cornered animal. She can calm herself rather quickly if need-be, but if she doesn't need to...

The Scholar

More than her love of violence and wayward morals, is her thirst for occult knowledge and her love of history. While she gets along with those who thrive on violence, she also finds herself making allies with those who seek knowledge. Someone with information on occult artifacts or tomes will find themselves in her good books quite quickly. Her love of violence is exceeded only by her urge to inform.

Mortal World

She tries to spend as little time involved in the mortal world as possible, but is finding it increasingly harder. Her bookstore, in the CBD, is open to the public and this is where she finds her main interaction with mortals. She also has ties with historians and scholars in the mortal world.

• 1905 - Born in London, England.
• 1918 - Moved to Australian with her family post-WWI
• 1932 - Embraced in an unknown location, Australia.
• 1932 - Began to wander and developed an interest in the occult, both overseas and throughout Australia.
• 1963 - Arrived in Brisbane and has not left for very long since this time.
• 1970 - Established and opened Black Odyssey Books in the CBD.
• 1980 - Named Prince of the city, in order to stave off the Anarchs.
• 1982 - Was promptly replaced as Prince.

2013

• JUL - Had some fun destroying the Sabbat that showed up, annoyed most of clan Toreador and was forced to deal with mortals.

No one is entirely sure of what goes on with these two, but he is one of the few that Jacqueline does not appear to try and torment (there are others, mostly the elders, but this man seems to be an exception). They are often seen in the company of one-another, and appear to have known each other since Jacqueline came to the city just over 50 years ago.

Anyone who has been in the city for some time will have seen the interaction between the Brujah affectionately known as "The Stick" and Jacqueline. Teddy has appointed himself the official peace-keeper of Elysium and maintains this with a literally violent fervor. He despises Jacqueline's teasing and torment of the other Kindred and has taken steps to physically ensure this is halted the moment it happens. Needless to say, Jacqueline does not like her fun interrupted and the two have been seen to show very clear aggression towards one another in the court.
