Quotes

Quotes By

"Its all about interpretation, Darling."
- Marcel answering his critics.

"The creative act is not performed by the artist alone; the spectator brings the work in contact with the external world by deciphering and interpreting its inner qualifications and thus adds his contribution to the creative act."
- Marcel on creativity.

"Batavia Batavia Batavia. Nope doesn't work"
- Marcel attempting to use a ancient Crone summoning ritual in the middle of court.

Quotes About

"The heathens are prothletising!"
- Godric Volmark in response to Marcel's play in Brisbane.

"Direct plays? My dear, he couldn't direct piss in a bucket."
- Uncle Willy

"Sex, violence, devotion to God, what more could you want in a performance"
- Lupo, drawing an unusual conclusion after one of Marcel's plays.

"Such a shame to see Marcel go it'll be much quieter at court without my favourite cousin to help liven things up. But then it is unfair to keep him all to ourselves."

"I've make the worthless bastard suffer for what he thinks he can do"
- Sebastian Volmark after being thrown out of his position of Prince's Harpy

"When I was Embraced, one of the first lessons Rasmus taught me was that my life was now a dance; a macabre dance that we're all forced to engage in. If that's the case, Marcel wants to dance in the middle of the crowd. He wants spotlights; he wants to twirl and be admired for his talents and have everyone watch him and fawn over him. Marcel's a diva, Vil. He wants the stage to himself, but can't understand why nobody wants to watch."
- Eira, to Vilhelmiina, on the subject of Rasmus.

"Has now seen behind the closed doors. I look forward to seeing if he accepts that particular filth or moves to substitute his own."
- Murdoch Tyron
