Appearance

Mask: There is only one way a mortal could describe Maxine; bland. Drab grey hair, uninteresting features. A literal wallflower, she's just another passer by. Yet, many remember the flash of bright blue eyes moments after her passing, but never anything else.

Mien: Unassuming, Maxine appears to be surrounded by shadow, she herself blending in with it. Her bluey-grey hair fades into the dark around her. But peering out beneath the hair are luminous blue eyes, curious of this new world but cautious of those in it.

Mortal World

Even Changelings don't really notice Maxine, so she isn't very prominent in mortal world at all. Currently getting used to the world again, she tends to stay out the way in her home, unless at a Changeling meeting. Her work as a translator allows her to remain unseen; to her clients, she's just another voice on the phone.

Mortal Life

Born into a middle-class family in London, Maxine always dreamed of being something special. She wanted her life to be far more exciting than a simple housewife or bookkeeper. So with plenty of hard work, she became one of the few female spies of her time. Her first deployment was in Russia, where she was to record and report data on the infrastructure being built. Not being of any note, it was easy for her to blend in with others as she did her work.
It was a mishap, and someone remembering her blue eyes that made it all fall apart. Fleeing into the forest, she was never found by Russian authorities and six months later listed as KIA by MI6.

Arcadia

Maxine remembers little of her time in Arcadia due to the trauma of escape.

Escape

Maxine's escape did not go to plan. She was so close, but her terror clouded her judgement as she ran through the maze to her freedom. Trapped, she was helpless against those who intended for her to stay. This was until a particularly angry fellow passed by and annihilated her captors. Free once more, they exited the maze with little resistance. Maxine wasn't much use back out in the mortal world. A lot had changed in sixty years. They eventually made it to Queen Street, where they bumped into another Changeling that was hurriedly making his way home. A quick tiff with him then led to a more serious one with a loyalist, which Maxine spent the majority of locked in a bathroom thanks to her angry protector.
