GAME INFORMATION:

1: Genre:
Werewolf: the Forsaken

2: Setting:

Gurihal; the Material; the Human world. As Werewolves, you don’t truly belong here. Wolfblooded are stuck here. It’s a sucky world and it has a lot of demands. There are also dangerous things in the dark – you should hope you’re more dangerous than them.

Hisil; the Shadow; the Spirit world. That twisted reflection and counterweight to the Human world. There are more demands than dangers, but while your main duties may lie here who would want to spend too long in such a place? It’s alien, most often hostile, but sometimes it may be more of a home to you than the “real” world ever was.

3: Themes:
Dependence: A Werewolf needs people to turn to. You’re strong, yes, but nobody can do this job alone.
Duty: The Forsaken took up Father Wolf’s duty of patrolling the borderlands and keeping the worlds safe.
Secrets: Everyone has them; some worse than others, some more than others.
Isolationism: Werewolves have to hide what they are, for good reason; who can you possibly let into your life now?

4: Mood:
Rage: Whether they’re angry at someone insulting them or just the world in general, Werewolves are full of rage and passion.
Horror: The Shadow is a strange and disturbing place. The mortal world can often be just as bad.
Tension: The Pure are a constant threat, as are Spirits and mortal Hunters. When will they strike?

5: Preferred character types, and restrictions:
Both established and newer Forsaken characters are appropriate for the start of the chronicle. After start of game, newly Changed characters are preferred but established characters will not be automatically denied.
Wolfblooded characters are appropriate and may Change in-game.
No Pure PCs will be approved for this venue.
Changing Breeds will be considered, but must be discussed with the VST first to be sure they fit the game.
Mortals and other Lesser Templates (Sleepwalkers, Ghouls, etc.) will be considered in the context of the current game.

6: Location of Venue history information:
Melbourne Timeline 2013 - Cross-genre timeline.
Melbourne Forsaken History - Werewolf-specific history.

7: Transport In/Out Information:
Mundane methods – plane, train, car – are available. Walking is not advised. Predator Kings are a very possible threat once outside the city.
Travel through the Shadow is not advised due to threats from Spirits and Predator Kings in the Spirit Wilds.

EXTERNAL FACTORS INFORMATION:

1: Experience Awards:
Attendance: 4 – attending and participating in game sessions.
Roleplaying: 1 – excellent roleplaying award, voted on by players during session wrap-up.
Downtime: 2 – submitting downtimes within the appropriate period.
Pack Interaction: 1 – either in game, RTR or via downtime. Lone wolves can claim this under downtimes.

2: Custom Rules:
N/A

3: Downtime Handling Procedure:
Downtimes are due two weeks before game to allow for processing time. Downtimes may be submitted as individuals or as a Pack.

4: Crossover limitations and expectations:
Crossover with other venues is allowed with Mid Approval; a session may be set aside for it if more than one scene is required.

NEW/INTERSTATE PLAYERS:

1: Information for New Folks (new to Beyond The Sunset):
Werewolf: the Forsaken is a game about passion, duty and great expectations. A Werewolf has much more emotion boiling up inside of them than a Human, so get ready for a lot of impassioned acting out and temper tantrums that can end in death.

2: Information for External Folks (from other Domains):
Sessions here will often focus on plot with everyone playing their PCs, but occasionally we’ll have a Spotlight Session that focuses on one particular PC and the people in their lives. NPCs are available for these sessions but, if the VST is aware of visitors coming, the Spotlight Session will be rescheduled where possible so that visiting players will definitely be able to play their PCs.
