Fellow Kindred,

It is my belief that the Carthian Movement and its members should stand for the following goals and principles:

- Commitment. We offer our help and advice on all matters that are in the common interest of the Kindred in their city. This includes, but is not limited to: protecting the Masquerade; protecting the city from outside threads as well as from those within; and resolving conflicts between the other Covenants.

- Collective action. We trust in the power of collective action. Accordingly, we seek to solve our problems and pursue our common interests by acting in concert, both with fellow members of the Carthian Movement, and with fellow Kindred of other Covenants. We will propose collective schemes as responses to our problems whenever possible, and we will encourage others to do the same. - Tolerance. We uphold both the freedom of worship and the freedom of expression. We do so both internally and regarding the members of other Covenants.

- Political rights. We grant every member the right to participate in our collective decision making processes. In that sense, we are a Covenant of Equals. We encourage others to also trust in the power of participation, in as many situations as possible, and by any means suited for that end. Everybody who can identify with these goals and principles is welcome to join me, and the Movement.

The Kindred, nationally, and internationally are facing serious challenges. I suggest that the Carthian Movement is ready to do its share in meeting these challenges, and to prove worthy of trust and respect.

It is my personal manifest belief, that these items are accessible only after our own internal needs are fulfilled. As Abraham Maslow posited in his paper “A theory of Human behaviour”, the kine are unable to address their needs unless their baser ones are satisfied. Unless their physiological needs are met, they are unable to address their own safety. Until their safety is assured, they are unable to seek a sense of belonging in any meaningful way. I would suggest that our own kind are the same. Unless the Beast is sated with sustenance, it will not allow us to seek collective action. Unless it’s safety is assured from the banes of our existence, we cannot fulfil the Commitment we should all share to further each other, and to fulfil our place in the world.

We have taken great strides to shelter ourselves from the Banes. Fire suppression systems, firm and solid Havens, and the Masquerade have protected us well. However, even as the Kine move forward from hunting and gathering, to agriculture, and then to automation, we have not. We still forage for our sustenance, having developed no better way.

I suggest we are better than this. Through studious study, and repeated practical societal modelling, I have developed a process to reduce the feeding capacity of the average neonate Kindred to under 30 square metres each. This is much more efficient than relying on hunting, as a sprawling city can support only a few dozen Kindred, where this method could support hundreds. It is my hope that in time, I am able to perfect a method of providing similar reliable and clean nourishment to Kindred of more advanced needs. I seek your support in doing just that. Once this final need is overcome by our kind, we can truly work in unity, and for the common good the Kindred share.

Respectfully,

Pyotr Mokhov
