Appearance

Robert is a moderately attractive (merit: beautiful) man of white descent that dresses in a flamboyant and quirky manner. His main mode of dress consists of beige linen pants, a black singlet, and some kind of over-the-top overshirt; at the moment he is favouring a pink Hawaiian shirt featuring flamingos, but he tends to rotate the designs every now and then as he feels like it.

As a fashion designer, Robbie picks his looks carefully. He has been known to change his mode of dress to suit the occasion; dark colours and jeans for a more morose and serious mood, for example. Unfortunately, the way that Robbie dresses is usually very much not standard. He tends to stand out in the crowd, and at times his outfits are bizarre or completely unmatching. He likes to tell people "I make people look good for a living, so I can dress how I want."

No matter what Robbie is wearing, his clothes are always festooned with safety pins and sewing pins. He's always got a piece of red thread attached somewhere to his person, and he is never far away from his tape measure (that he likes to drape around his neck). When he meets new people he likes to 'measure' them, much to the discomfort of many. He tends to fiddle with his red ribbon.

Personality

Robbie is a very upbeat man and is outrageously camp. He does not hide his sexual orientation whatsoever and has been known to flirt platonically with people when in a good mood. Robbie is (usually) one of the more plain-speaking of the Moirai. He says what is on his mind, and doesn't hide what is in his heart at any given time. He is very distractable and tends to flit from idea to idea depending on his mood and what catches his interest. He is usually quite loud about this as well.

He has a lot of trouble staying on target, and without the support of his other coterie members tends to not think about the past or the future, which has led him into hot water on many an occasion. People tend to describe Robbie as either the life of the party or a troublesome loudmouth. He dislikes being told 'no', and tends to find silences and mysteries uncomfortable to leave alone.

Robbie is quite creative which is usually a good thing, but sometimes manifests in the worst possible ways. He finds unusual solutions to problems that usually do not involve outright violence, and likes to find ways for people to get themselves into hot water. However, this with his 'leap before you look' personality sometimes leads to dangerous or unexpected situations that can be quite publicly explosive.

Despite his loud and frivolous nature, Robbie is surprisingly serious about three things. Firstly is consent. He hates people that pressure or trick people into things without their consent and will fight for anyone that has had their consent taken away. Secondly, the truth. Robbie believes that there are more sides to the truth than just what you see, and tries his hardest to keep his mind open to all sides of an issue no matter what. He dislikes people that refuse to see truth and finds them hard to be around. Thirdly is anything involving children. He believes that children should be protected from harm at any cost, and will go out of his way to help children no matter what.

When Robbie is very upset, he loses control of his more plain speech and slips into a very 'Malkavian' speech pattern that uses a lot of metaphor and wordplay. As he has delved into the secrets of the cobwebs, this tendency has increased (much to his dismay). Robbie would be the first to admit that sometimes his most clear insights are the ones that people are the least able to understand.

Mortal Days

Robert Tyler was born as the youngest child to a military family from the United States of America. Born 5 years younger than his older sister, he remembers more about living on various military bases than he does about his extended family in the USA. In Robbie’s living memory his family lived in Guam, then Australia, and for a brief stint in America with his paternal grandparents before his Father was discharged honourably due to disability. His mother took up a teaching job in Australia when Rob was 13, and the whole family emigrated peacefully to Sydney.

Robbie had a strained relationship with his father; his sister was more masculine than him. (She came out as Bisexual after he came out as Gay, and now is living with her Girlfriend in Sydney.) His mother was supportive but timid. His Father had ‘projects’ that he pushed Rob to do; sports, wood-shop, mechanics, boxing, etc. Instead of the hyper-masculine program prescribed, Robbie learned how to lie, how to fiddle with things mechanically, and how to disappear. He found his love for fashion and creation during sewing classes at his co-ed high school and pursued it regardless of his father’s opinion. His mother never divorced his father, but fervently disapproved of his treatment of Robbie, and encouraged/facilitated Robbie to do what his heart decided (which didn’t help with the whole honesty thing).

Robbie came out as Gay in his 18th year and delved hardcore into the Sydney scene. Met many people, had many lovers, took many drugs. By the age of 21, he moved to Canberra, took courses on fashion, and entered the industry in earnest, starting to work his way up. (The move was to get away from his parents, as much as it was to get away from the scene in Sydney.) Robbie met his third ex-boyfriend Leon there; the one that couldn’t let go (2011 - 2013.)

He apprenticed to a bespoke tailor shop around 2012 (Mostly through community contacts; most of the stuff they made wasn’t mainstream) and managed to lease and staff his own bespoke tailor shop by early-2015. For Robbie, it was happenstance and proximity that drew him to the homeless man that called himself 'Hank'. A drug addict and a self-proclaimed derelict, Robbie found that he felt both sympathetic and fascinated by the (slightly) apocalypse-obsessed vagabond that had made his home at the back of his shop.

Robbie had enough time to hire and get to know his part-time assistant Louise when he was embraced and staked one night at a club in early 2016, after which he woke up in early 2021, 5 years later...

Disappearing for a while isn't out of character for Robbie, but in the past, it has meant that he was going through a real crisis. His reappearance and reticence aren't unusual either, but now that he has reappeared, it is likely that remnants of his human life are going to follow.

Recent History

Between 2016 and 2021, Robbie was embraced and staked. He woke up with the other Moirai, his siblings (and the persons that, according to Robbie and his siblings, share a consciousness (Or a brain-cell, depending on who you are talking to)) in a dark, dripping dungeon. Their stakes seemed to be attached to water-timers. Each of them had been embraced for different purposes, in different years, and been staked to awaken together when the time was right.

For Percival (the oldest), the past, 10 years passed. Robert, the present, 5 years passed. Amelia, the Future (and the youngest), 2 years.

The only guidance they had? Prophetic visions, and a feeling that they were to guide fate on their own, somehow.

The revelation that their sire, Sonja, is the current Prince of Canberra (and the former Primogen for the Malkavians) has clouded their embrace for Robbie. They were made as the past, present and future of a powerful member of the Camarilla. Why? Was it simply to create a fresh perspective on life? To place pawns in the camp of the Anarchs? Or was it for something more sinister?
