Personal Information

Sesha has only recently arrived at the Freehold, along with Jonathon Cross, Neko Nyan and Magpie. Her time in Arcadia was relatively short, but felt far longer, and she got very close to losing herself forever. She has always had an interest in snakes and ecology - more than in other people - and so doesn't necessarily particularly mind some of her serpentine changes; it wasn't really worth the trauma, though, and she's afraid of losing herself again and hurting someone. She is not very expressive of her emotions and is a little socially awkward, but can be very protective. She feels guilty about the other prisoners of the Menagerie she left behind, and would like to help search for new Lost in the Hedge to make up for it.

Real/Mortal Name: Sesha Williams

Age: 23

Mask: A tall, very slender and well-muscled young woman. Her eyes seem to change from green to hazel to golden-brown depending on the light. She has fairly thin, brown shoulder-length hair and slightly exotic olive skin. Her face has high cheekbones, hollow cheeks, thin lips, and round eyes that don't blink as often as they should. Her fingers are long and thin, and she moves with an inhuman grace.

Mien: Very tall, and impossibly thin - but if she has eaten a large meal (she tends to eat a lot, but infrequently) tends to look a bit bloated for a while. Eyes are slitted and usually bright green, but sometimes go a rich golden-yellow, usually if she is experiencing some intense emotion. She never blinks. Her hair looks even thinner, and scales have replaced it in places, especially around the neck. The scales thicken towards the base of her neck, and continues out of sight under her clothing. There are some visible on her hands and arms. Her nose is very small, her face sort of stiff-looking and unemotive, and there are faint pits around her thin lips. Hard muscles ripple under her skin, and she looks more like she slithers than walks. Her tongue is forked, and flicks out of her mouth occasionally.

Mantle: None (but if she did: Pleasant warmth from above, as from a heat lamp, or from below, like a sun-drenched rock. The smell of warm, damp jungle vegetation).

Motley: None yet, likely House of Janus or a new one with fellow Menagerie escapees.

Personality: Fairly flat, emotionally; uninclined to extremes of emotion. Patient, logical, and prefers to think things through and gather as much information as possible before leaping to action. Very protective of those she cares about - particularly Jonathon Cross and the others from the Menagerie. Slightly awkward when it comes to personal space: prefers to express affection or care through big hugs, but uncertain when and how it is appropriate to get close to people; the result is that she tends to seems quite distant and aloof, until she wraps someone in a tight and not necessarily welcome embrace.

Mortal World: Sesha has a sister and PhD waiting for her. She may be more keen to re-engage with the latter than the former, though she intends to send her sister a letter as soon as she works out what to say.

Timeline

• 1989: Born.
• 2006: Parents die in car crash.
• 2011: Travels to Borneo for PhD research on snake diversity.
• January 2013: Taken to Arcadia.
• May 2013: Escapes Arcadia.

Arcadia

Sesha was warped into snake form for display and entertainment in the Gamekeeper's Menagerie. The Gamekeeper's goal appeared to be simply to strip her of every bit of humanity and reduce her to a reptile, possibly with a desire to watch her consume other people in animal form for entertainment or experimentation.

Escape

She had almost lost every shred of her humanity when she was given Jonathon Cross in the form of a mouse to hunt and eat, but was prevented from doing so by Neko Nyan. They, along with Magpie, worked together to escape the Menagerie. They broke the Gamekeeper's control by both being predator and prey and cooperating for mutual benefit, and by taking advantage of being neither fully human nor beast but somewhere in-between. They released other animal-changelings as they fled, but don't know what happened to the others.

Recent Events

Sesha and her companions were found by Erebus in the Hedge, interrogated and released into the Freehold. They have only very recently been so freed.

Sesha glares.

Sesha: "I am doing well. So is Jonathon." Pause, glare. "He's the one whose whiskers you pulled out."

Specter: "Yeah, yeah I remember him."

Specter squirms, Sesha glares.

Sesha: "Tortured anyone lately?"

Specter: Tugs at collar. "Uh... Maybe?"

Three uncomfortable, glary minutes later...

Specter: "Oh look at that, time's up!" *PHEEEEEEEEE*
