Family History:

Peter Wittelsebach, a Child of Gaia kinfolk, descending from the legendary Philodox “Weighs the Truth”, migrated from Bavaria to Adelaide in 1889. Two years later he married Maria Braun, a fellow kinsfolk, whose family had migrated to Australia a decade previously. The Wittlesbach’s had five children, Peter (born 1892), Joseph (1894), Maria (1895), Bartholomew (1897) and Eloise (1900). Of these, Eloise would become a Child of Gaia Philodox and play a significant part in the Garou community in Australia, eventually rising to the rank of Elder.

In 1914, Bartholomew changed his last name to “White” to escape the prevalent anti-German feeling. He served in the war and, after returning, settled in Sydney where he met Melanie Evans, a Child of Gaia Philodox of Welsh ancestry. Batholomew and Melanie had three children: Toby (born 1921), Katherine (1923) and Melisa (1926). Katherine and Melissa both became werewolves, Katherine a Philodox (known as “Speak Easy”) and Melissa a Ragabash (“Teases the Wind”).

Toby served in the second world war, and, upon retuning from the war, met and married Agnes Berg. Agnes was from a family of Child of Gaia kinfolk who had lived in Berlin but had fled Germany prior to the war, fearing persecution. Agnes had assumed she was, like Toby, a kinfolk but, shortly after the wedding, she changed, turning out to be a Ragabash and was given the deed name “Cunning as a Fox”.

Agnes and Toby had four children: Bartholomew (born in 1949), Sarah (1951), Amy (1953) and William (1957). Agnes went on to rise to the rank of Elder with the Children of Gaia, before dying, in battle against Black Spiral Dancers. Of the four children, only one, Sarah, would become a Werewolf, a Philodox, known as “Voice of the Truth.”

Henry and Emily Green arrived in Australia, from London, in 1950. Henry was a Child of Gaia kinsfolk and Emily (Known as “Never Gives Up” was a Ragabash, descended from the famous English Galliard “Sings for the Mother”. The couple settled in Sydney were they quickly developed a fast friendship with Toby and Agnes. Henry and Emily had great difficulty conceiving but eventually, had a single child, name Penelope, in 1959. Emily would fall, alongside Agnes, in 1961.

William and Penelope, being close in age and the children of close friends, grew up together. They both attended the University of Sydney with William becoming a lawyer and Penelope becoming an English teacher. In 1982, they married. There six children were: Agnes (born 1984), Emily (1987), Peter (1989), Maria (1990), Sam (1992) and Melanie (1997).

Of these only Sam has (so far) become a werewolf.

Because of their connection to the Children of Gaia, the White family has a long history of involvement in Environmentalist and other progressive political causes. Most of them vote for and several of them are active members of the Green Party and several speak with pride about their family’s early involvement in the environmentalist and gay rights movements.
