Canberra Timeline
- 1914: First Silver Ladder Mage arrives in City
- 1931: Enough mages have arrived to form a proper Concillium to be formed.
- 1949: Banishers suddenly arrive in force and start a war against the Concillium.
- 1952: Banishers have either killed any mage who hasn’t fled or taken extreme measures to hide themselves.
- 1983: An attempt is made to reclaim the city from Banishers, while damage is done they manage to hold the city.
- 2004: No word from the Banishers for over two decades, Mages start to return to the city after failing to find any with remote means. Most are assassinated within the year, the rest find ways to remain in the city by being very cautious about using their magic and hiding themselves among plain sleepers.
- 2014: The Consilium of Canberra formally reconvenes for the first time under the Hierarch Emperor Nathan, following a traditional Consilium structure.
- 2015: The Consilium of Canberra implements a re-written charter and appoints Beckett Shore as Hierarch of the new Consilium.
The Lex Magicus of Canberra
Consilium Charter
- All cabals residing in the city of Canberra have the right to their own Councilor on the Consilium's Ruling Council
- A cabal's Councilor is to be appointed by their own choosing and at their own discretion - each cabal is responsible for resolving their own disputes of representation
- The Consilium's Ruling Council is the law-making body of the Consilium, all mages of the Consilium must abide by their rulings
- The Hierarch has the right of tie-breaking should the Ruling Council fail to arrive at a decision on a matter it has put to a vote
Locations of Interest
Capitol Hill
Capitol Hill is completely controlled and monitored by the Banishers of the city.
No one knows where exactly their base of operations is located, but given how quickly they respond to any supernatural activity in this area, many suspect it is nearby.
Canberra Railway Station
Literally the only guaranteed way to bypass the Banishers on the way into Canberra is by train.
This location (in Kingston) is under the protection of a guardian spirit, and it is believed that a Spirit master from the previous murdered-almost-to-a-man Consilium of Canberra made a pact with it so it would prevent Banishers from being able to detect supernatural beings in the area.
Canberra Airport
Pretty much guaranteed to kill you. For the love of god, we said trains not planes. Why would you fly into Canberra?! Airport security is a stacked Banisher deck.
Established NPC's
- Set - leader of the local Seers of the Throne
Rumours
New
- There may be a faction in the city masquerading as Banishers who are working against the Consilium
Old or Debunked
IC News
New
- There is currently a 200-strong demon cult in the city, working for a demonic power spirit
- The leadership of this cult are offering the cult's services to the highest bidder
- The cult intends on putting members in key infrastructure positions around the city
- The cult is liable to also attempt to gain any sort of power it can
- The Banishers are attempting to secure the epicentre of a supernal charge build up that is blanketing the city
- It has been confirmed this supernal energy build up is due to the actions of Mr Joker
- This supernal build up is causing both magic and paradox to become increasingly more powerful
- It is believed when this build up discharges, there will be many awakenings
- Currently the Consilium believes the Banishers haven't got their stuff together enough to contain the charge
Old
- Banishers, Banishers everywhere
- The Cult of the Protector was found to be led by an individual marked by an Abyssal spirit, this spirit was banished back to the Abyss although the cult still remains active in dwindling numbers
- Seers of the Throne are present in the city, and have nominally offered support to the Consilium of Canberra in the task of destroying the Banishers
- Canberra's history has been altered by Tick-Tock Men
- Currently known alterations include the removal of the second Telstra Tower and the removal of Shadowmoore, a Guardian of the Veil
