Sydney Domain - The Harbour of Darkness

Sydney Ankh.jpg

Sydney is the capital of the state of New South Wales, and was the first city founded by the British Empire within Australia, as the Colony of New South Wales. The Beyond the Sunset club appeared in Sydney in 1999 under the Camarilla Australia with a Camarilla Vampire chapter. The membership grew in size that the city was able to expand to include a Werewolf, Changeling and Sabbat game each month as well. The domain now runs venues under the New World of Darkness setting, see below for more information on the games.

The World of Darkness Sydney is different from the real Sydney; buildings have a more gothic feel, street crime is up with large gang violence and organised crime presence. When you would expect a local thug to carry a knife they instead have a gun, the person walking down the street has a secret, and the feeling you get when you walk down a dark alley is well founded. The gulf between the rich and poor is vast.

For more information about the Camarilla Australia in Sydney, contact our Domain staff. Details of all past and present position holders can be found on the Sydney Position Holders page.

Games

Sydney runs a series of sanctioned games under the World of Darkness System and Rules using the (New) World of Darkness Minds Eye Theatre (MET) Storytelling System. The rules have been modified slightly by Beyond the Sunset, in order to better suit our global, ongoing chronicle. Contact the VST (Venue Storytellers) for more information on the games and rule changes.

All games occur on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. For venue information please contact the Venue Co-ordinator for the game you wish to play. Please note that the game details (time, location or cost) may change prior to the game so please watch for announcements on the OOC Sydney mailing list or contact the Venue Coordinator.

Reset

The current wiki pages are for use on the creation of the games for the 2013 National Reset. The current chronicle's games will finish in April with the new chronicle starting in June. The confirmed games for the reset are:

After Game Social Events

Sometimes after the conclusion of a game, some of the players like to get together to talk about the game, catch up, and generally hang out and have fun after being at each other's throats all night. This is a great way to meet new people, and maybe recruit for a table top game you'd like to run. When you're at the game, be sure to ask the Venue Coordinator where the Post-Game Gathering is happening.
