Sydney Elysium Sites

In 1867, Governor Bush levied a tax on the Kindred population of Sydney, using the proceeds to employ the Martin Family (a Ghoul Family) to cultivate the City's Elysium under the direction of whomever held the office of Keeper of Elysium. Since then, the City's Keepers have had the Martins at their disposal to support their position and maintain the sites and Kindred Influence over them.

Cockatoo Island - Sydney's First Elysium.

Manly Quarantine Station - Previously frequented by those members of the Ordo Dracul who followed more "modern" forms of practicing medicine, when the Quarantine Station was added to the Sydney Harbour National Park, those with influence over Local and State Government saw to it that management of the facility fell under the auspices of the Martin Family. While maintaining the site's Heritage status, the Martins saw to it that the site be endowed with comforts that made it more palatable to stand among the City's Elyisum.

St. Peters Town Hall - The newest Elysium location after the destruction of the Old Children's Court.

Sydney Old Children's Court - We use the Venue OOC, I think it'd a fine venue IC wise too, so why not?

The Rack
The Rack is located on George Street in the City from Broadway to the Rocks, and is the Governor's personal Demesne. Kindred may petition to feed from the Rack, but must then dedicate some of their own time to guarding it from poachers. Those caught exploiting the Governor's generosity are usually dealt with harshly.

The Undercities

The dark and foul places below the city were assumed as opposed to gifted. It is the Domain of the Nosferatu and few select other Kindred. The Undercities are scattered around the city. They are in the CBD, Bondi, Hurstville, Campbelltown, Parramatta and Chatswood. Additionally, somewhere below Sydney is the Nosferatu Necropolis; a maze of abandoned tunnels and train lines under the Sydney Area. The Undercities are connected by huge direct pipelines, which are massive and used infrequently as underground "highways". Other entrances are scattered over the city. If you know how to get to them, you can use them. But you aren't the only ones, or things, that might be...

Notable Locations

  • Rookwood Cemetary and Necropolis - Rookwood has always been a site of significance to supernaturals around Sydney, however Kindred stay well away from the burial ground. Since its establishment in 1868, Kindred have felt a growing sense of unease the closer they get to the site. As such, no Kindred has ever made their haven on its grounds. Not even the Nosferatu, who's bailiwick is the realms of the ether, are able to spend more than an hour on the site before losing their nerve and making retreat.

  • St. James Station - [1]
  • Paddington Reservoir -
  • Bankstown Bunker -
  • Balmain Coal Mines - According to Brian and Barbara Kennedy's fascinating book Subterranean Sydney (Reed, 1982), the deepest man-made tunnels in Sydney once stretched (and may still do) between Balls Head and Mort Bay. The tunnels of the old Balmain Coal Mines (also known as the Sydney Harbour Colliery) were worked, without success, from 1897 to 1931. At their deepest they reached 900m below the harbour. It took workers an hour to walk to the more distant coal faces beneath Balls Head. The entrance shafts, on a site next to Birchgrove Primary School, were filled with ash from the White Bay Power Station and sealed in 1957. Parts of the labyrinth of tunnels, 5m in diameter in parts and lined with bricks, probably still exist deep underneath Balmain.
