The power beside the throne. The Scourge is the bloody-handed vengeance of the Praxis, when there is an infraction, the Scourge is there, and when it warrants it his appearance means death for those that transgress the Law of the Praxis. Most worrisome is not the Scourges zeal in ending kindred, nor his legendary near omni-presence, but that fact that no one ever sees him coming.

The Scourge has been given right of destruction on any unapproved progeny, without trial, without inquest, without mercy. The greatest carrot the Prince has is the permission to sire, and no dilution of this is permitted. The Scourge is also given free reign to destroy any unacknowledged kindred unaccompanied by a member of the court. It is also usually the Scourge, not the Sheriff to bring final death to those that transgress.
