If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — forever.
George Orwell, 1984

Introduction

Descended from a dark elder with venomous intentions, the Line of Kaloyan is a group of brash iconoclausts focused, with a nigh-suicidal passion, on avoiding the steady creep of social decay and bringing about a true sense of equality and justice to a world that's never known such a thing. While their ancestry can be traced back to the sixth century, they became more common around the 17th Century onward. Some say that they were always there, just getting louder. Some say that the lowest of the line realized what was happening, and started to turn against it.
There is, however, no escaping the sense that they're fighting against something, and that their battle has only become more desperate in the Final Nights. Nobody's quite sure what it is, though.

History

Pre-Victorian Age

  • Kaloyan, the Vlach, is Embraced.

Victorian Age

The French Revolution (1789-1799)

  • A French noblewoman, Evangeline, found to be sympathetic to the French Revolution is snatched from the Guilotine and Embraced.
  • Evangeline joins the fledgling Anarchs behind the French Revolution, assisting where possible.

Victorian England (1800-1835)

  • In 1805, Evangeline is summoned to England for an unknown purpose.
    • A small band of Victorian Anarchs is created under her, focused on remaining quiet and avoiding attention as they attempt to overthrow the social injustice of the era.
  • In 1809, a police inspector's daughter expresses her disgust at the excess of a dinner party while the poor starve outside, along with the mistreatment of the servants.
    • She is recruited and Embraced into the line, as elegantly and quietly as possible.
      • The decision is a poor one, and Evangeline is reprimanded for the decision to Embrace someone still tied to their mortal life, intimately.
  • In 1810, Evangeline comes up with a plan to kill two birds with one stone.
    • The daughter, who will become known as 'Lady Twilight', an infamous bushranger, is sent to Australia, along with her father, to deal with the Rum Rebellion and make it a land unclaimed and free.
    • Evangeline returns to France, leaving her brood behind.
  • In 1832, Paris undergoes the famous 'June Uprising'. The Camarilla take the city.
    • Evangeline is acknowledged as a member of the Camarilla in Paris, under the watchful eye of Kaloyan.

Australia, the Gold Rush Years (1820-1880)

  • In approximately 1820, Twilight revolts against the staid, Victorian-esque manner Sydney conducts itself in, and strikes out for the bush.
  • Up until 1860, the infamous female bushranger, 'Lady Twilight', is leading a gang of Brujah bushrangers, robbing carriages and distributing money to the poor of the new and growing colonies.
    • The press is defaming her despite this.
  • After a failed attempt to ghoul a reporter, in 1861, 'Lady Twilight' elects to Embrace a promising reporter and keep him in Sydney to report on her escapades.
    • Her mythic status is solified, and she continues for the next twenty years.
