Personal Information

Recently out of Arcadia, Danny has quickly gotten a reputation as a bit strange. Most of the time, she seems to have no memory of anything before waking up in the Hotel Tranquility one day, at other times she remembers her Durance, and at still other times, she seems to have forgotten she was ever taken (or grew up, for that matter).

Appearance

Mask: Average height, though quite thin. Dark hair and eyes, and pale skin (think Snow White/Rose Red). She has a glass-like fragility, as if any sudden force could shatter her.

Mien: Danny is constantly accompanied by her reflection, which is superimposed over her “real” self. Sometimes she seems to forget which one is her and tries to pick things up with her reflected hand. She casts no shadow. Instead, light seems to refract through her, so she is constantly followed by the colour spectrum.

Mantle: The occasional sparkle, like when light shines through a small shard of glass. When she is particularly emotional, the faint tinkle of windchimes may also be heard.

Personality

Depending on in what circumstances you meet her, Danny can be friendly and naive, timid and erratic, confrontational and bitter, or downright jubilant and childish. More generally, she comes across as a bit out of it and seems to have an extraordinarily bad memory, which she is very self-conscious about.

She is still coming to terms with the fact that she has dissociative identity disorder, which developed during her stay in Arcadia. The Lost are collectively aware of four distinct personalities:

Danny - in terms of personality, there is very little that is distinct about Danny. She is shy, but friendly, and inclined to follow along with anything, often to her detriment.

Canary - Canary thinks she is seven and is convinced that her parents will pick her up from holidays eventually (no one has really had the heart to tell her this probably isn't going to happen). She loves collecting things, and playing games, and dancing. She very much likes the fairy folk (Changelings) and thinks that it is very exciting to be one herself. She doesn't remember being taken, since, in her mind, it hasn't actually happened yet. This may seem like a refreshing breath of air to Changeling still strongly feeling the trauma of Arcadia, but there's something unsettling about this false innocence.

????? - she responds to the name "Danny" but she doesn't seem to own it in the same way Danny does. She seems completely paranoid, as if she expects control to be snatched away from her at any moment. She often talks about her "turn", and recently has begun behaving as if she were a character in a fairytale.

Danielle - not many have seen Danielle, but those who have have confronted a deadly mix of anger and fear. She is the only personality that is fully aware of the others, but seems to make up for that by having very little staying power. She makes use of the little time she has in control trying to get back in touch with her mortal life and sever connections with the supernatural side of things. It's a losing battle, and only seems to make her more angry and self-destructive.

Mortal World

Danny does not have very much presence in the mortal world, although she has been known to pick up strangers with her good looks.

A recent attempt to find her, and her brother, Davian's, parents resulted in the discovery that they, along with the two fetches, had gone missing.

Arcadia

Danny’s durance was in the Gilded House of Horrors. She polished the mirrors for days on end, until her arms finally gave out and she was replaced by one of her many reflections (the House had a lot of mirrors). The reflection would continue with the job until it, too, had to give up, when it would be replaced by the next reflection… and the next… and the next, until it would finally be Danny’s turn to take control over her own actions again. Over time, it became a battle of wills – whoever was out of the mirror was the “real” Danny, and all the reflections did their utmost to stay out as long as they could. This made the time in between even longer, until it seemed almost certain that a single "real" Danny didn't exist any more.

Escape

Danny escaped through a mirror, although she is a little unclear whether “through” was “out of” or “into”. There was, however, a lot of broken glass. Once out of the House, she ran, chased by the hellhounds as she pelted for the Hedge. Once there, she was pulled into the shadows by Davian, who hid her until the hounds were gone. Together with another Changeling, they escaped Arcadia into Eagle Farm, were found, and taken to be interrogated (during which the other Changeling disappeared).

Recent History

2013

OCT - ????? escaped Arcadia and was taken to the Freehold.
NOV - Danny went to Toowoomba and learnt quite a bit about supernaturals (like zombies)
DEC - Danny went with Neko, Lachlan and Fin to find out if Neko had a Fetch. Drank a very good cup of tea.

2014

APR - ????? joined the Autumn Court
MAY - Danny sold her sorrow to a goblin representative
JUL - Danny joined the Certain Hour
OCT - Canary went missing in the Hedge after an encounter with a True Fae

Motley

The Certain Hour Danny's motley is her family. She may not have been with them long, but they are incredibly important to her. Hayley is Canary's favourite playmate, and even the uncertain one is able to relax enough in their company to speak coherent sentences. Now, if only Danielle could be brought round... she is the only threat to Danny's pledge to her motley mates.
