Return to Brisbane Camarilla Court

Suggested Standard Harpy Court Routine by Mr Parker, Chief Harpy to promote transparent Harpy interaction and promote the setting

Assumption 1: Harpies only ever act after consultation with other harpies, and always present a united front.

Assumption 2: All harpies keep each other as best informed as possible so that all are aware of the details of any issues/scandals.

Assumption 3: We are playing by the rules of the setting, and reminding/teaching players of the rules of the setting.

Mr Parker as Chief Harpy will gather the harpies before court: (At the start of game viz 5 min call after Spiels)

  1. The Chief Harpy will charge all the harpies with being the social conscious of the court. This is your protection for the evening. Please review how this works, refer to the Insurance Policy for Harpies 2015
  2. Chief Harpy allocates status to harpies to be used in their duties. Please use your allocated status especially in social challenges, remember you are playing trendsetters for fashion, politics and philosophy.
  3. All harpies keep each other informed of anything that may be cropping up as the night progresses, a brief 5 min meeting once or twice during the night to check in.
  4. If you think something constitutes praiseworthy behavior, OR dodgy behaviour, or a scandal, gather the harpies that you can (Ideally 3 at minimum, grab Mr V or Mr Parker or ST as the rules lawyers if required)
  5. Confer with the other harpies, identify the nature of the actions, is there is any fault? If there is identify the specific action, the tradition or protocol that was broken, identify person(s) responsible, decide the severity of the crime and level of punishment and who will level the punishment.
  6. Loudly in public state (ideally use the announcement template)that the harpies are in agreement that NAME of the kindred by their SPECIFIC ACTION was in breach of the SPECIFIC TRADITION THEY HAVE BROKEN.
  7. Then level a negative trait against the guilty, or multiple negative words if necessary, using the words allocated at the start of the night.
  8. Parker as Chief Harpy will back your judgement by making the status permanent.
  9. We then need to both IC and OOC explain to the court and the player(s) WHY they were punished. (If they still don't get it)
  10. I'd suggest that as a learning tool we specifically identify the protocols broken, and remind the offending person that the negative status can be withdrawn if they can demonstrate the right way to do whatever they got caught doing.
  11. Document what has been done or observed on harpy group/wiki.

As one of the stated aims of having a Harpy group is to make sure people know what is happening and for which reasons, I'm suggesting the following formats for announcements be used. This should ensure consistency and provide accountability for WHAT specific action they are being praised or punished for.

Praise Format: For Kindred upholding the Traditions or Protocols of the Camarilla

Gather the harpies, agree on what was worthy of praise, choose speaker, present united front when making announcement.

“The harpies of the Court of Brisbane have viewed the actions of the Kindred known as _______ (Acknowledged/Ancillae/Elder) of Clan_____(Position if any) of the Domain of Brisbane. The harpies are in agreement that their actions (INSERT SPECIFIC ACTION HERE) was in accordance with the Traditions and Protocols of the Camarilla specifically (INSERT WHAT RULE THEY OBEYED HERE) and should be lauded as upholding the Traditions and Protocols of the Camarilla.”

[Polite clap]

Penalty Format: For Kindred violating the Traditions or Protocols of the Camarilla

Gather Harpies, agree on what was done wrong, which specific action broke which specific rule or tradition, decide punishment, choose speaker, present united front when making announcement.

“The harpies of the Court of Brisbane have viewed the actions of the Kindred knows as _______ (Acknowledged/Ancillae/Elder) of Clan_____(Position if any) of the Domain of Brisbane. The harpies are in agreement that their actions (INSERT SPECIFIC ACTION HERE) were in breach of the Traditions and Protocols of the Camarilla specifically (INSERT WHAT RULE/TRADITION THEY HAVE BROKEN HERE), and so should be knows as (INSERT NEGATIVE TITLE HERE) for displaying their lack of knowledge.”

Confirmation of Status Change by Chief Harpy

As Chief Harpy, I Mr Parker of Clan Malkavian, Harpy of the Court of Brisbane, concur with the decision of my fellow harpies and my colleague harpy _________________'s allocation of the status of __________________ to the Kindred known as _________________ and so make the trait permanent.

Thank you.
