Kiasyd Lore 1

  • Usually very tall and thin with jet black eyes, a slight bluish cast to their skin.
  • They're very knowledgeable and polite.
  • They're usually passive, preferring to watch the events that go on around them.
  • They can be easily offended.
  • They may be Sabbat.
  • They are vampires, but may be the origin of legends of elves.
  • They are extremely lucky.
  • When angered, they have furious fae tempers, sometimes irrationally.

Kiasyd Lore 2

  • They tend to reside alone, away from other Kiasyd, and are very territorial but enjoy hosting.
  • They often set up roots and remain in one place for long periods of time, hoarding "treasures."
  • They've been called Weirdlings and Darklings.
  • They don't like to drink directly from the vessel.
  • They are impressed by knowledge and angered by crassness.
  • They do not embrace often, resulting in universally potent Generation.
  • The transformation they undergo upon embrace is very painful, many die.
  • Their odd powers are called Mytherceria.
  • They are linked to the Fae.
  • They may be tied to something infernal.
  • They may be progenitors of the Lasombra clan or a bloodline of the Malkavians.

Kiasyd Lore 3

  • They gather every 50 years or so to exchange knowledge but they usually cannot bear to stay around other Kiasyd too long. They do stay in contact and will help each other.
  • They also have mastery over shadow (Obtenebration) and mind (Dominate).
  • They may be embraced Faeries and are very passionate. They refuse to break oaths.
  • Mytherceria seems to be an odd mix of Auspex and Dementation.
  • The pain of the transformation takes several nights and induces a sort of madness and uncontrolled frenzy from which some never recover and must be killed.
  • The Lasombra Marconius became the first Kiasyd, though it is unknown how.
  • The Lasombra protect the Kiasyd like siblings.
  • Iron gravely offends Kiasyd. No one knows why, but you know to keep it away from them.
  • They claim they can see Fae.
  • Their history involves the city of Strasbourg.

Kiasyd Lore 4

  • They are the result of an old Lasombra experiment, and you know the most common details of the experiment (blood of the god gotten from a mortal Mage, Fae blood, underworld components).
  • Their current links to the Lasombra are genial and often are associated with libraries and mutual support.
  • They are not infernal, but somehow there is a link between Demons, Fae, and the Kiasyd creation.
  • The Fae don't mind Kiasyd and in fact often welcome them to their gatherings when approached correctly.
  • Marconius was cast out by the Lasombra, and taken in by the Fae. The other participants of the experiment were slain by the Lasombra for their transgression because of the fear of Fae reprisal for the act. The Lasombra assumed that Fae would kill Marconius in payback… or worse.
  • Marconius was not expected to live, but he took the city of Strasbourg in Europe from the Ventrue rather decisively. Soon after, the printing press was invented there.
  • The Kiasyd have no natural enemies.
  • You have heard of the Dancing Plague of 1518 as a warning against angering the Kiasyd.

Kiasyd Lore 5

  • You know the history of the Kiasyd as commonly told and may have added your own interpretations.
  • After the experiment went awry, Marconius disappeared for centuries (legend says to Arcadia where time passes differently). He returned, with his brood, and took Strasburg from the Ventrue, to the delight of their rivals, the Lasombra. He still rules there. You've probably met him.
  • Know the true association with the Fae and more details on the experiment.
  • Marconius was taken in by the Fae after the experiment and may have been taught some of their powers over the 10,000 years, resulting in Mytherceria.
  • The Kiasyd were instrumental in ushering in the age of enlightenment, creating books with the printing press and protecting Strasbourg as an educational centre.
  • You have heard that the Dancing Plague of 1518 was used by the Kiasyd and Fae to control the mortal populace from uprising against supernatural rule. They have not bucked again.
  • You know of the Kiasyd quest to find the balance of abyss and glamour in the material world.
  • The childer that returned with Marconius were not embraced on earth. They are embraced Fae that have chosen to join in the experiment.
  • Marconius refuses to speak of the time in Arcadia – perhaps because he can't remember. None of his childer speak of it either.
  • You suspect the specific type of Fae that is infused in Kiasyd is called Sluagh, or was it Sidhe? You have heard that Nocker and Eshu have been viable theories too. Maybe a mixture.
  • The Fae cooperated with the Lasombra group that changed Marconius. It might have been their idea.
