“Much has been recorded of Daimyo Oda’s mortal life, so if you want to know more buy one of the books off my shelf, would you?
What you won’t find in any of them is that one of the gaijin he let into Japan was a venture. That’s all he has said to me on the subject, no matter what I offer him.
Oda eventually faked his death and left his homeland. He admitted he was bored and was in need of something different.
Where he is willing to pick up his story is that he once met a young Weaponsmith by the name of John. See John had come over to ‘learn the secret of the Japanese swordsmiths.’ Oda, a man has always respected competence, I’ll let you have that tip for free my friend, and John is an exceptional smith, even back then. When they met John pledged to modernise Oda's weaponry, presenting a sword every year which was given to Oda's personal guard. Once the apprenticeship was over they setup and beneficial business arrangement, possibly a friendship. I doubt any of us truly remember what one of those feels like.
At some point he ended up in france during the revolution. While watching a battle Josephine Bouvene caught his eye, strong in body and mind he was determined to make her his first childe. He sought and obtained permission of the local prince and sired her.
He eventually settled down in England. Where he ran into John Smith again. The two rekindled their friendship. He was doing well politically, regular rising star our Daimyo, until he became a threat, to someone. Can’t get that info out of him either. He was commanded to head down and take control of the colony in Australia. He gathered John and Josephine and headed down here. John role in the expedition outfitting and helping provide funding, while Josephine was to help in the martial areas. After hearing about the expansion into Australia, Isabelle decided she would join Oda's voyage. Knowing her reputation he agreed, thinking he could use her blood magics to achieve his goals.
