Focusing on the Future
The News of the World each week seems to reveal new skeletons for people to weep over... whether they're people missing in the bush, a building fire killing 50+ or the sick and depraved exposing themselves on a building site.
Problem with many things in this dark world we seem to all live in is that many of these events can be linked back to a supernatural event or influence. The problem that I see with the modern dark world is that Hubris is beginning to occur more and more at clunk of the wheel. People doing things because there never seems to be someone in the back of their minds reminding them that what they're doing is setting them apart from expected societal norms.
I'm often drawn back to the tenet of the Council that says destroy the seekers of the lie... The problem I see is that the lie is beginning to expand beyond the seekers as it becomes a norm of the screwed up masses looking to their hubristic vices to the detriment of the minds and souls of those around them.
Perhaps it's time to take a more heavy handed approach in dealing with the perpetrators of human hubris.
