It began as the Diamond within Australia, and even since the formation of the Free Council, Concilia and Assemblies have often stood separately.

Within Brisbane, over time since the signing of the Pax Brisbanesis eighteen years ago, there has been increasing integration and now not every Free Council mage joins the Assembly. The Brisbane Consilium happily accepts Free Council members within its ranks, although currently only a small proportion, and through the treaty agreement has been able to apply the Lex Magica to all mages.

This was demonstrated in 2010 when Joseph, a leader of a small cabal of Free Council mages, publicly attacked a group of vampires in Queen Street mall, breaking the Concord with the other supernaturals. Joseph was tried by the Consilium, under Lex Magica, and with the full support of the Free Council former Strategos, Wavelength.

Diamond Orders

The Diamond Orders make up the majority of the Brisbane Consilium and have been active in the city since the 1860's. The most prominent current cabal is the Lighthouse, the remaining members all either current or past Councilors, and including the former Hierarch, Harp, a shaman of the Silver Ladder.

The Diamond orders were all but destroyed after the war with the Seers in 1982, with only a handful of masters remaining. Since then all of the orders have tried to rebuild.

Adamantine Arrow

The Ungula Draconis, the Talon of the Dragon: The soldiers of Awakened society, known for their expertise in combat magic.

History of the Adamantine Arrow in Brisbane

The Adamantine Arrow has grown to become a significant group within the Brisbane of today, with many training under Cricket, of the Lighthouse.

Guardians of the Veil

The Visus Draconis, the Eye of the Dragon: the protectors of Awakened society, feared for their skills in espionage and assassination.

History of the Guardians of the Veil in Brisbane

The Guardians presence in Brisbane has remained relatively small, but significant, with one all-Guardian cabal, the XMG.

...

Mysterium

The Alae Draconis, the Wings of the Dragon: the researchers of Awakened society, searching for hidden lore in both rare tomes and forbidden tombs.

History of the Mysterium in Brisbane

The Mysterium, as is common throughout the pacific region, has a significant presence in Brisbane. Since the Stonemasons arrived in 1985, the group has outnumbered any of the other Diamond orders.

As the only Mysterium in the city for a long time, and on good terms with Zaphkiel, the Stonemasons established an Athenaeum within their all-mystagogue cabal sanctum. In recent years many other Mysterium have joined the city, yet the Stonemasons have managed to retain control.

...

Silver Ladder

The Vox Draconis, the Voice of the Dragon: the advisors of Awakened society, wishing to rebuild a unified community of mages under their leadership.

History of the Silver Ladder in Brisbane

Although first to arrive, the Silver Ladder have remained a relatively small presence in Brisbane (the Silver Ladder usually does not recruit as vigorously as the other Orders).

Free Council

Existing outside the Atlantean mythos, these allies of the Diamond seek to modernize magic, free of the constraints and traditions of the ancient past.

Older Free Council members see themselves, and the Assembly, as an alternative to the Consilium of the Diamond, whilst younger members increasingly over the years since the signing of the Pax consider the Free Council simply another Order within the Pentacle.

History of the Free Council in Brisbane

The history of the Free Council is largely the history of the Assembly.

Remaining on the sidelines during the war with the Seers, the Free Council were able to dominate the city for many years afterwards, but without any overarching coordination until the reemerging Consilium forced them to act and formalise the Assembly.

The Free Council is now an Order in transition, members having free choice to either Assembly or Consilium.
