The House of Broken Mirrors
Sometimes when we look into the glass, we hate what we see and soon the shards litter the floor...

This page is in relation to the group named The House of Broken Mirrors and those who are its members.

Overview

The House of Broken Mirrors is a group dedicated to helping kindred of all walks of life with the providing of resources, loaning of retainers and even helping of setting up of secure Havens. A home to those who have nothing, need help or generally hate what they see when they stare in the mirror.

The House draws its inspiration from a few sources. The primary ones are the idea of looking into the mirror and hating what stares back as well as the Wonderland tales of Through the Looking Glass.

The House itself can be seen as a modern reflection of a Victorian boarding house for wayward youths or orphanage for children who have nothing or feel they need looking after by others than those responsible. It also has similarities to modern day shelters.

The founder of the House is Alister Liddell in the year 1967 as he served the Invictus in Melbourne. So intent on the idea of family and charity being the driving forces of his existence he began adopting people into his own family. Kine usually who he would attempt to help for no reward, it developed into him adopting several as his retainers who served him faithfully. The idea also links back to his stay in the Asylum after loosing a close personal friend and the feelings of loneliness that followed. He swore no one should be made to feel alone again From there the House expanded and with it's revival in Adelaide he offers help to any and all who needs it. However the House has a standard and should that standard be betrayed then issues will arise.

The House is run by an Invictus but it is not solely for the Invictus. members of any Covenant or unaligned may join to give them safety, a peace of mind or even just the security of a family out with the court politics. Religion, faith and creed do not matter. Politics does not enter into discussions. It simple is a shelter and a place of refuge. However over time those using it's facilities will be expected to become full members of the house and begin giving back and assisting in the running of it with their own resources, retainers or skills. Failure to do so will have them blacklisted for abusing the trust given to them.

The House is still young oocly so looking at developing as we go.

Recent History

After nigh on 50 years of the House being run in Melbourne it has finally been shut down after the betrayal of one it's core members who decided to steal away for a near six figure sum of resources and betray not only Alister but the entire family. As it stands the House is in it's earliest development phases in Adelaide and shall be back up and running with everything it needs to start providing the support it once dealt. Though given it's recent betrayal a bigger emphasis on family will be placed as well as what members have access to in order to avoid any unpleasantness in the future.

Status will be involved, each member will start at status one and as they grow in status they will be granted new access to higher tiers of the families resources, retainers and influence. Should someone wish to acquire access to more then they are allowed to they will need to pay their own cost in either task or boon. Nothing is free forever.

The Founder and many members met Final Death in the year 2016, one of the higher members Mikhail Torre swore to uphold the dream of Alister Liddel and promised to keep his wishes for the house even with the little he holds.
