Personal Information

Appearance

The Sorrow is frequently dressed in jeans and flannels, bandages and gloves covering his face and hands. He speaks in an indeterminate American accent. He does not immediately look like a religious man but with a closer look the few trinkets he wears can give him away.

Personality

The Sorrow is a smart man, and one that cautions against quick action. He is a man of devout faith but is happy to leave Kindred to their choices, as long as they do not impede him or his or break the traditions. He is genial at first to most but does not suffer fools well.

Mortal World

The mortal world does not remember the man that The Sorrow once was, and his interactions with human society are limited and generally done through his ghouls.

Timeline

• 1829 - Born to a name now forgotten in Louisiana. The Sorrow speaks of his childhood rarely but he lost his father at a young age and was raised on a farm.
• 1861 to 1865 - The Sorrow apparently fought in the American Civil War, according to him it is here that he first encountered the Kindred that would embrace him.
• c. 1870s - It was within a decade after the war that he found himself to be embraced. He doesn't speak on it often but it was a mixture between mercy and punishment.
• Embrace until 1914 - Travelled America, doing work for the Lancea et Sanctum. Those who retell stories of him from this time remember a cruel man with a penchant for violence.
• c. 1910 - The Sorrow traveled Europe around the time of the Great War, again on orders of the Lancea et Sanctum. Very few tales exist of his actions within these years but rumour has it that he fought Radev
• c. 1920 until 1940 - This is the earliest that The Sorrow will frequently speak on. He speaks of a time of change and a new calling. It is apparently in these years that he became further interested in ephemeral entities and joined his Order. He speaks of the time he took to claw back his humanity from the beast. This time was spent traveling his home country of America.
• 1940 until 1975 - The Sorrow spent time in the city of Perth. This is known from records from the era, he speaks of training under the legendary Mayhar Al-Sahand. It is also here that he apparently acquired his ghoul Abd Al-Aziz as a gift from presumably Al-Sahand though he has not as yet confirmed this. He is recorded as having taken part in the First Strix War in Perth, leaving as it ended.
• 1975 until 2010 - The Sorrow was a participant in the third court of Brisbane. When asked to speak on that period of time he tells tales of pride and complacency amongst the court of Brisbane. He apparently spoke out against these behaviors, but was shunned for these opinions. It is with sadness he speaks of the fall of the court and the rise of the Parliament, and it is then that he left Brisbane.
• 2010 until 2019 - The Sorrow set up in Nobby's Creek, a small town near the border between Queensland and New South Wales. He integrated into the community using gifts of Obfuscate and the influence of Abd Al-Aziz and his family. There was a small following of The Sorrow's teachings in Nobby's Creek. In 2017 there was a mass suicide in Nobby's Creek, the reasons for this are still unknown to the Police.

2019

• JUN - Finishes the appropriate preparations to travel to Brisbane, hoping to reunite with his Sire or at least find a home again within the borders of the city.

Known Sire

Trinity Augustus Ingnasius Jehovah Jebadiah BeauMont IV is the one that created The Sorrow. While at first their relationship was strained as The Sorrow did not enjoy the prospect of eternal damnation of the soul, the two have come to be closer in later years as The Sorrow has come to terms with his unlife and duty within it.

Known Siblings

• The Magdalene, The Sorrow is close with his sister, however it is largely in a professional sense. They are both in the exorcism business and frequently share notes and consult with each other on things they are dealing with. Despite they professional air to their relationship, he feels a fondness towards the woman.
