Luciano de Lombardo

A Requiem, Instead of A Ballad

On Luciano's wedding night, on the 23rd of September 1840 in Rome, both he and his wife, Gloria, were sired against their will. They were then forced to drink each other's blood by their sire and became blood bound to each other. His sire then diablerized his wife infront of him. After this the beast took control and used vigor to escape. His sire believing that a fledgling without a sire would be doomed in the world and if he didn't, he'd attack people causing him to be hunted, and thus diverting the attention from him/her, or if he did survive the night he would be stupid enough to walk into the sunlight and die of his own accord. However, Luciano de Lombardo actually had theories about said beings existing and made, quite accurate, guesses as to how vampiric anatomy and weaknesses occur. He also made theories of "long sleeps they could use to avoid attention" and with little knowledge of what or how vampiric society worked in his era or location he bought himself a coffin, dug a grave and got a close friend, also a conspiracy theorist, to fill in the grave.

After being in torpor for almost 50 years Luciano awoke from the continuous, repetitive nightmare that was his embrace. Sadly, he was woken by his colleague opening his coffin. As the his colleague predicted Luciano did not age and the vampire hunters, that accompanied Luciano's only assumed friend, attempted to attack him with stakes and fire. This put Luciano into frenzy, not only because he was starving of hunger, but also due to the fire. He quickly kills and drains his victims except for his colleague whom he let escape, due to sentimental value. However, despite having his hunger fixed Luciano was still confused by where he was, or infact why they attacked him or, moreso, anything in his life, other than his embrace.

He stayed awake for approximately 3 months, by feeding on women, before attacking a family that changed Luciano forever. He smashed his way into the family home and killed the mother, and her husband whom tried to protect her. He believed he killed the entirety of the family, but then, a little girl called Nina walked up to him and sobbed "Are you going to kill me to?" He looked at the woman that he killed and realized that the woman, the mother of this girl, infact looked identical to his wife. Luciano sobbed, what almost could have been mistaken for a tear, and asked "What was her name?", Nina, realizing what had happened to her mother, as she spoke, "Her name's Gloria O'Neil, well actually Gloria Demetri originally named after... (escalating to shouting) ...named after my Great Aunt whom was murdered by a monster like you! You bastard!" Realizing what he had done, he fled to Russia and returned to torpor.

Now merely remembering the night that he attacked the descendants of his brother in law, some of his embrace and his love for Gloria. He was awoken by the USSR to be used as a defensive/offensive weapon against the US, whom were also believed to be training "night stalker" super soldiers. Luciano tried to use the "night stalker" combat training as an opportunity to destroy himself and the vampires around him. However, the beast simply wouldn't allow him, not with fire, not even with how much he hated himself, and what he'd become. So after killing the other members of Task Force 666 (thus the real reason for the collapse of the Soviet Union, in 1991) he escaped Russia, in fear of their rage, to Nepal. He spent the next year becoming skilled with the khurki.

After falling into torpor for a final time, he awoke and found myself in the land that he was once known as "Jack the Ripper", London 2006. Here he founded a small hunter group, drawing on his skills from Task Force 666, which was quite successful. The group was so successful infact, they quickly, in no longer than 22 months, discovered Luciano was infact a vampire and so he fled to the small Australian country town of Armidale. Since he has been here, he has hired his services, as a mercenary, to anybody willing to let him remove bestial things, particularly vampires, for this is the little tiny bit of joy Luciano could still scavenge.

In the months leading up to May 2009, his "condition", as he called it (his large amounts of depression and hatred for vampires), exponentially got worse and he could barely move without twitching in sadness and/or crying in pain. On the 11th of May he disappeared. Some believe he became too overt so he decided to flee and return to torpor once more. Others believe that kindred society in Armidale killed him before he had the opportunity. Those, few, who were close to him believe that he may have succeeded in committing suicide. And then there are few who believe that Jack the Ripper still haunts New England, trading his very specialized skill set for permission to destroy his fellow kindred. No body knows quite where he is, or when/if he'll return...

Appearance

Luciano, when he's seen at all, is covered mostly in a monk's robe that is brown is colour. No body has seen, or at least recorded an image of, his face since his embrace. In British folklore there have been many illustrations of him. Some, may be, in general fairly accurate representations/illustrations of Luciano, although nobody has, successfully, drawn/seen(or if they have they didn't live to tell the tale) Luciano's more intimate features, such as his face.

Personality

The outside public has falsely, although rightly, assumed that Luciano is a stone cold killer. However, those whom have seen past the barrier which he has portrayed to the world have seen that he infact is an emotional being. Luciano, infact is a romantic and a writer. However, these gifts that he has been given have been overshadowed by his undieing pain, hearing Gloria's final screams repetitively in his head. Luciano, is infact a very depressed person, with no other, real, knowledge in the world but to blame kindred society. His continuous pain is the fuel for his hatred of kindred and if he had the opportunity to kill all kindred he'd take it, in the name of both his vice, which is wrath, and his virtue, which is justice.

Mortal World

From May 22nd to August 17th, 1887: Jack the Ripper, the embodiment of fear and pain. He literally indulged in orgying in the feasting of blood, purely for the fun of it. Until his attack on the O'Neil family.

From February 28th, 1985, to Present: The experiment that eventually went wrong. The subject turned against his fellow "Night Stalkers" and killed them. His actions thus made the USSR defenseless against the American "Night Stalker" squads that the American military were secretly threatening. This caused the fall of the Soviet union on the 31st of December, 1991. However, made the Russian's hate him, on pure face value.

From March 11th, 2006, to January 28th, 2008: The leader of the "Shadow Ashers" Hunter group. Later to be discovered as a vampire himself.

From 1st July, 2008 to present: Those whom were lucky enough to be protected from feeding kindred, due to his rage, would know Luciano as a type of guardian angel. Other humans know him as mercenary for hire.
