Appearance

Lex is a short, dumpy young woman with messy silver hair and stormy grey eyes. She wears large-framed prescription glasses paired with a bleak expression and a cigarette, and dresses in baggy clothes, favouring graphic tees, hoodies, sweatpants, and sleepwear. She tends to keep her distance from other Kindred. When she's not socialising, she often hides behind a sketchbook.

Personality

Though she might appear skittish or neurotic, Lex has an irreverent humour, a sharp wit, and a strong sense of justice, and is never afraid to speak her mind. Anger and spite are powerful instigators for change, and while she knows the intricacies of both like a childhood friend, she also understands the true value of compassion and empathy in the wake of their destruction -- though that is not to say she always has the inner strength to muster them.

In the constant struggle to feel and find motivation, some nights are worse than others, so she is constantly searching for reminders big and small that she, and others, deserve to thrive and be loved. On her good nights, she's amicable and easygoing. On her bad nights, she's prone to cynicism, doubt, and self-loathing.

Timeline

Mortal Days

1990 - Born Alexandra Kelly on the 5th of March at Flinders Medical Centre, South Australia to working class parents Edward and Catherine Kelly.
1995 - Begins her education at Marion Primary School, a bright and creative but sensitive young student.
2002 - Attends highschool at Hamilton Secondary College, favouring art and IT.
2006 - When her father Edward passes away after suffering a fatal heart attack, Lex falls in with a bad crowd and begins smoking cigarettes.
2008 - After much truancy and poor performance, Lex drops out of year 12 to focus on her digital art.
2009 - First paid employment working night shift at McDonalds; she is fired the same year for giving out free food.
2010 - Lands her second job as a night shift barista at OTR.
2011 - Lex's mother Catherine is killed in a car crash; after a grief-stricken Lex attacks their landlord, he refuses to renew their lease, casting her out into the street. She is fired from her job at OTR after she is caught stealing from the till.
2012 - Lex alternates between couch-surfing, homeless shelters, and sleeping rough. She learns how to survive on the streets, who she can and can't rely on, and the truth of the harshest injustices of the world. She becomes good friends with Rose Collins, one of the volunteers at her local shelter.
2013 - One of Rose's friends takes Lex on as a housemate. With some peace and stability, Lex resumes her digital art and begins taking commissions on Twitter and Tumblr to supplement her Centrelink payments.
2014 - (April) She moves out of the sharehouse into a tiny apartment in Unley Park.

Kindred Nights

2014 - (September) After being abducted, interrogated, and tortured, Lex is embraced by and bound to Agatha Skinner, a neighbour from her apartment block. Two nights later, Agatha is executed by Michael Larson, and Lex is taken in by Agatha's sire, Dr Philip Hayes.
2015 - A prisoner in all but name, Lex is held at Glenside Hospital by Dr Hayes, who attempts to study and treat her derangement, and mentor her as a surrogate sire. She resents her captivity, but learns to come to terms with her vampirism, and is cooperative enough to earn some small comforts.
2016 - (January) Lex is rescued from Glenside Hospital in a daring infiltration orchestrated by Michelle and Andronikos. She officially defects to the Anarch Movement after meeting Clyde Russel, and settles in Christies Beach.
2016 - (March) Lex resumes her online art commissions under the pseudonym CrimsonFog, and befriends the local homeless population.
2017 - After much protesting, Lex finally agrees to attend Kindred group therapy sessions with Michelle Smythe.
??? - Lex shares premonitions with Clara Isadora that help her to keep her young mortal son safe.
??? - Lex teams up with Jules to collaborate on a mixed media guerilla mural on bourgeois private property, but they are caught in the act and arrested. Each of them blames the other for drawing police attention.
2020 - Lex convinces Anya Westwood to join the therapy group.

Recent History

2021

FEB - Lex helps the Anarchs destroy a Tremere's warehouse deep in Camarilla territory, where she uncovers a useful piece of correspondence and steals the security footage tape to try to cover their tracks. Her premonitions warn her of the next moves in this dangerous game.
MAR - The coterie is delivered a disturbing and unnatural painting which unsettles them greatly. When the Anarchs raid the abandoned Tremere Chantry, Lex turns to some classic fairy tales for clues that might prepare them to survive the dangers left behind.
APR - When Andronikos is captured by the Camarilla, Lex takes a risk in calling Dr Hayes to barter for information. When the Anarchs stage a daring rescue at Capri Theatre, Lex scouts ahead with the recon team and takes a tactical stagehand role. In the aftermath, Jamie's spontaneous diablerie and callous words shake her faith in the Anarch leadership.
MAY - Lex is a bad influence on her coterie at the Bush Doof, and digs a hole for herself trying to help unravel the mystery of the rumoured spy among the Anarchs.
JUN - After AJ is saved from some vengeful Nosferatu, Lex tracks them down to recover his abducted touchstone, who barely survives the encounter. Later, Lex is demoralised by another clash with Jamie.
JUL - Lex stalks Clyde after a tip-off from John. At the beach gathering, the Anarchs face off against a Tzimisce's minions; Leo is lost, and the name of the dire threat is revealed to be Sascha Vykos.

OCT - Lex and Anya travel together to the Canberra Anarch gathering, where she meets a wide variety of Malkavians and is frustrated by a lack of organisation. Back in Adelaide, Keith holds a sermon to convert Panders, and his flock are abducted en masse in Sascha's ambush.
NOV - The Anarchs take revenge on Sascha in his lair, and Lex uses her Dementation to break his mind before he falls to torpor. When John and Rafael fight over Sascha's body, Lex follows them home from the shadows to learn more about their motives.
DEC - The Midnight Broadcast is interrupted by Prince Carmichael with a deranged challenge. The Anarchs assault the Crown Plaza in an attempt to topple the ivory tower, but are met with fierce resistance by Camarilla minions, including Sheriff Larson. After a long battle, they reach the penthouse only to witness a betrayal by Yasmin, the appearance of the Hecata, and a bloody coup, wherein the Lasombra Markov takes his place as the new Prince. Almost all of the Anarchs barely escape with their lives.

2022

JAN/FEB - Demoralized, Lex languishes in her depression from her casket in the Coterie's new safe house. A few private sessions with Michelle and a deep conversation with Rafael help to get her back on her feet, but she remains reserved and shaken by the ordeal at the Crown Plaza.
MAR - Lex helps Anya put on a punk show in Glenelg to boost Anarch morale and raise money for charity. When the local Sabbat turn the concert into a bloodbath, Lex loses hope, pushes her friends away, and goes AWOL.
APR - Lex spends a month of obsession and seclusion in Glenside, blood-bound to Dr. Hayes in the name of a new "treatment." Floyd frees her mind when the Anarchs track her down to pull her back out, but not before they've sent Hayes on the run and torched the underground office containing his life's work.
MAY - When the Anarchs crash a Cathari Sabbat party, Lex and others face off in a debate against their leader to win the hearts and minds of a group of Camarilla defectors.
JUN - By chance, the Anarchs capture some hapless shovelheads lurking around Donnie's territory. When Lex helps show them some kindness and understanding, they reveal valuable clues about the dark magic involved in their creation.

Camarilla, 11th Generation Malkavian. Lex's surrogate sire and former captor/therapist. It's said that "Stockholm Syndrome" is founded on some rather unreliable science, but there's definitely something going on there. For now, she just wants to stay out of his grasp.

Camarilla, 12th Generation Malkavian. Paranoid schizophrenic, became convinced Lex was an Inquisition spy and embraced her in an attempt to gain control. The main cause of Lex's PTSD. Broke the Third Tradition, and was executed as punishment.
