I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary to redeem Man from Sin through his death and resurrection.

I believe that Longinus, by piercing the Savior’s side as he hung from the Cross, did reveal the divinity of Christ through fulfillment of the prophecies and that, while Longinus was rightly Damned for his blasphemy, his damnation was itself part of God’s Holy Plan.

I believe that those so Damned are the agents of God’s will, chosen to receive the Embrace that we may test the faithful and reveal the divinity within each of them.

I believe that for my sins I am damned to Hell and yet through damnation I may find my purpose in God’s Holy Plan.

Appearance

Saul is about 182cm tall, or about 6ft. He weighs a stocky 92kg with a toned body. He has short, light brown hair that reaches just down to his ears with pale, light green eyes. He looks to be in his early 30’s. He has a permanent 5 O’clock shadow.

Saul dresses modestly, though on occasion will dress lavishly in recent fashions and designer outfits when he wants to be noticed. Around his neck is a cross, symbolizing his Christian faith. He is always found carrying around his personal copy of the Testament of Longinus.

Personality

Being a Toreador, Saul has a penchant for the arts. He has a keen interest in paintings, usually of religious figures. Saul loves art. His Haven is full of assorted artwork and paintings he has managed to collect over the years. Some from gifts, some purchased, and some he has even painted himself. He considers himself a connoisseur of such things, and has an unhealthy obsession with portraits. Interestingly, Saul also seems to have a fascination with cats. This is most prevalent with his retainer, LaCroix. LaCroix is a white, male Persian cat. Saul received him as a gift several years back, and is named after an interesting character Saul met once during his travels. He is fiercely protective of this cat; some might say even obsessive.

Saul never quite knows when to stop talking. He loves talking, performing and acting. He's blessed (or cursed) with a silver-tongue, no matter what he might say, he finds people tend to agree with him. This has led to him developing a loud, some would say obnoxious personality.

Saul is very confident; some may be put off by this. Saul has never been very physically strong, preferring to solve his conflicts with words instead of weapons.

Saul is extremely pious, often referencing phrases from the Testament of Longinus and is adamant that all Kindred should share his beliefs and follow what is outlined in the book. He dislikes those that mock or question his faith and despises those he sees as heathens and/or heretics.

Mortal World

Saul Rodrigues was loud, confident and charming, though respectful. Enjoying the attention he would receive, Saul was prone to visiting many clubs throughout his mortal years. An exotic creature, he would've greatly enjoyed attention from both men and women alike, and was fond of going to clubs and bars in order to find someone new. Dressed lavishly, he would've openly boasted about his heritage and culture and his love for the arts, offering to paint portraits of people and demonstrate his many talents in performance and dance.

1948 - Born in Lisbon, Portugal to Emilio Rodrigues and his wife Celia.
1966 - Graduated from the University of Lisbon. Soon discovered an interest in Australia. Began planning a trip there, which sooned turned into him deciding to permanently move there, with his goal of becoming a famous painter.
1973 - Moved to Australia, settled down in Sydney for a few years or so before deciding to pack up and travel the country properly.
1980 - Embraced by his Sire, Martin Cruz

Recent History

2016

August - Saul arrives in Adelaide, meeting many of the city's Kindred and making many assumptions as to who to engage with and who to trust. Saul is introduced to two prospective Sanctified members; Anne Lacey and Sarah Lake. He develops a fondness for them and becomes interested in their Catechisms. During this time Saul also met the local Circle of the Crone coven who he believed to be eccentric and wholly misguided in their beliefs. Overhearing a conversation between Alexander Black and Michael Storm, Saul learns that Kostya is a suspect in the murder of an Invictus Neonate. Later on the Evening of August 6th, most of the Court proceed to investigate a peculiar mirror that had been responsible for bringing grief to Clan Daeva. It was during this time that Prince Alexander Black declared a Blood Hunt on Kostya, which Michael Storm swiftly carried out. Saul learns about this the following evening. Several days later, Saul is made Herald of the City of Adelaide by Prince Alexander Black.

The Kindred of Adelaide next met on the night of August 20th, with Court hosted by both Viktor and Manx at the former's bar, Lenin's Cabinet. Arriving at the same time as Anne Lacey, Saul followed her inside and engaged in small talk with her, until Bishop Timothy Ward arrived and requested a private discussion. Bishop Ward spoke to Saul about his reasoning for coming to Adelaide, his duties as Sanctified and his future aspirations. Bishop Ward suggested that he would be willing to Anoint Saul as a Priest, if Saul could pass his test. The exact specifics were left ambiguous. Not for long however, as Saul was then informed by Bishop Ward that there was an issue regarding a regnant-less Ghoul named Danielle, formerly belonging to an Amelia Crawford. Speaking with both Ward and Anne, the Sanctified came up with a plan to subdue and capture her for later questioning. Upon arriving at the address, their plan soon fell apart. Unable to gain entry into the flat, both Saul and Anne were forced to listen as Ward broke down the back door and engaged in combat with the lone occupant. Though a nearby neighbour emerged to investigate, Saul was successfully able to convince him to go back inside via use of Mesmerism. Finally, able to enter the premises, Saul joined Ward in the attack on Danielle and soon helped drain her. This did not last for long however, as the neighbour reappeared and was then chased into his flat by Ward. In an attempt to assist the Bishop, Saul joined Ward in combat against the residents who soon dispatched. Needing to destroy evidence of their intrusion, Ward set the flat up to blow via a gas leak and the flat complex was destroyed in a fireball as they made their escape. Ditching the Anne’s hatchback just off the Noarlunga jetty, Saul swam up the coast with Ward, both soon emerging on Christie’s beach. After a passionate moment with each other, the two of them attempted to flag down a passing car in order to acquire transport back to the bar. However, this was not to be, and they were soon ran down by an unidentified motorist and badly injured. Miraculously, they were eventually able to make it back to the bar where they were met with the sight of a disemboweled corpse on the front doorstep. After being insulted by Manx, Ward stormed off with Saul in tow.

September - On the 4th of September, Saul attended the Court session hosted by the newcomer Rose at the Crazy Horse on Hindley Street. Both Bishop Timothy Ward and Mother Elizabeth Saint-Matthew agreed that Saul was ready to be Anointed as a Priest within the Sanctified. However, before the Ceremony could take place, Saul and Edward Z were both tasked with feeding so that they might maintain a sufficient supply of Vitae for the Rites that would surely follow. Saul ventured out onto the busy streets and found himself a fairly attractive man. Naturally, Saul flirted with the man and soon found himself in the company of several Kine who insisted that he follow them to "this really great bar I know". Unsatisfied with the response, Saul attempted to use the powers of the Blood to aid him, however he was unsuccessful. Upon being rejected by a mere Kine, Saul frenized, attacking one of the group before being promptly ejected from the venue. Returning to the Crazy Horse unfulfilled, Saul was forced to consume his supply of Vitae Reliquaries to replenish his Vitae supply. Following this, Saul rejoined the Sanctified congregation and made his way to the Haven of Bishop Timothy Ward where the ceremonies would take place. Prince Alexander Black, Sir Ezekiel Abrams, Seneschal Evrae Altana and several other Invictus guests were present. Saul was Anointed first, with Edward Z following soon after. After the ceremony was over Bishop Timothy Ward informed Saul that he wished for him to act as his Paladin for the duration of the Conclave at the end of the month. Mother Elizabeth Saint-Matthew requested that Saul represent her interests at the Conclave, which he accepted. ~~During this time, Saul also met with a Nosferatu named Thomas. Saul learned many things.~~

The 17th of September marked a tragic day for the Court of Adelaide. In order to combat the threat of Kormac and his ilk, the Kindred of Adelaide put together a plan to venture down into the depths of the Necropolis and deal with the creatures down below. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned. After setting off several traps, the group encountered a group of six 'corpses' which were soon discovered to be resting Kindred. In the ensuing chaos and combat, both Prince Alexander Black and the Master of Elysium Carsten Sobels were left behind. Carsten managed to fight them off, however Prince Alexander Black met Final Death.

October(WIP) - Almost killed at the gathering at the estate of Fujita Kazuhiko, explodes a Larvae, fights off 4 or 5 others.
